how would you like to see the Texans offense perform? A vertical passing game like oaklands?? Smash mouth football like the Steelers? I good mix like the Pats? A lot of motion like KC and St. Louis??

What obviously was not working was the 2 and 3 tight end sets because the Steelers put nearly everyone in the box. The only time that worked was when we did a play action. Carr has a strong arm, and hopefully mathis will be back after the bye. That means we can have AJ, Mathis and Armstong out on 3 reciever sets. AJ is just AJ, while mathis and stretch the field and Armstrong has glue for hands, even over the middle. I think opening up the pass will take people out of the box, and Davis may find a few running lanes. I noticed one play in particular where we had 4 recievers and DD as the lone back, and we handed off for around 8 yards, simply because they couldn't have everyone near the line. Carr has the arm to be a good pass happy quarterback, if he can avoid being chased around the backfield. The max protect schemes haven't been working because the tight ends and Davis aren't blocking very well. If that doesn't work, get them off the field and put players on the field who help spread out the defense. Also, look around the league and see if there is any player at all who could play tight end for us, but there probably aren't many out there. Basically spread it out, and maybe throw some motion in there to help Carr see how the defense reacts and maybe figure out what kind of package they are playing. We do not have the players for a smash mouth type of game, but I think we have better guys for a west coast type of game.
