If Gary Kubiak wanted a running bakc in the first round? Would this be at all possible? Would you accept or decline?

Trade #8 away to Denver for #21 and Tatum Bell?
Bell is a back that fits well into the system and has already worked under Kubiak before.

In Free Agency sign a big name tackle like Luke Pettigute with hopes that he can remain healthy and serve as our left tackle until Spencer can return or until we can get a good enough young guy o take his spot. Maybe we can sign a nasty player like Albert Haynsworth to help with the middle of the defensive line and unleash Mario on the outside. Then we can just sign some guys to fill in for depth.

1: Patrick Willis (LB) - Along with DeMeco Ryans, they could become one of the most dominating pair of linebackers in the NFL.
2: Chris Houston (CB) - With one of the worst defensive backfieds in the game, this kid has a chance to become a star.
3: Doug Datish (C) - We need an anchor for many years to come, and this is a solid pick-up that will be valued for years to come.
4: Josh Gattis (s) - A physical guy who seems to always be around the ball, could be a big time steal int his draft.
5: Xzavie Jackson (DE) - Could be put into the rotation along the defensive line and knows how to get to the QB. I hope he falls this far.
6: Aaron Fairooz (WR) - Played for a not so big name school, but put up good enough numbers as a junior to keep him this high.
7: Kasey Studdard (OG) - Solid player for UT, i would like to see him continue his carrer with the Texans. He has the potential size that kubiak likes in his offensive line.

Tatum is explosive but he gets hurt alot and they dont even use him full time as hes only effective 10-15 carries a game.

I would much rather Peterson or Lynch someone younger, just as explosive, and can carry the full load over a season.

josh gattis doesnt seem to have the ball skills to be a true free safety. he's like someone else we have on our team...

i think with the depth of sleeper CB's in the draft, we'd be better off taking meriweather in the 2nd and taking a guy like graham in the 5th or bain in the 4th.

as far as taking willis, where does he fit and where do we put Ryans? SLB? WLB? demeco is better at dropping into coverage than willis, but where does that put greenwood? he'd have to restructure his deal or get traded because we aren't gonna pay a backup that much. its a good idea though. timmons might actually be a better all around LB because of his coverage skills and blitzing ability. taking poszlusney in round 2 might get us better value, and we could take Revis in round 1.

I love some of your ideas, but not this one. Don't think Tatum is worth the 13 picks we would drop.

I like the idea of Revis and Poszlusney in 1 and 2, i just dont think poszlusney will fall that far...But i originally wanted Lawrence Timmons but with all the hype about Willis, you really dont hear much about Timmons, so i figured throwing DeMeco and greenwood outside and havin Patrick Willis in the Middle...I honestly agree with you that Timmons is the better all around player though, nice catch!!!

Why would we need to move Meco to the outside? we need him in the middle to be the leader.

that was a hypothetical question regarding patrick willis. willis doesnt have the ability to drop back into coverage like demeco does, which is more important at the WLB spot than the MLB spot. get it, got it, good.

No. We should get a bigger back that has some break away and can barrel over people. I'm tired of these quick scat backs. I want a RB that is going to punish the D.

I agree with your plug for Michael Bush. He may go late 1st round but man-o-man, I think he's a sleeper and would be a great addition to the Texans, provided the broken leg has healed O.K.

I think he would be kind of like Frank Gore. He'd be so-so the first year and really come on the scene his 2nd year.

If you have a chance to possibly draft AD then why should you even consider trading for any RB. AD has a chance to rush for 2000 yard a season and score 20 - 25 TD if he stays healthy. Can Tatum Bell do that for you.

Year before last year, Seattle had offered Shaun Alexander to any one for 2nd round draft pick after he had rushed for nearly 1900 yards and had scored 27 TD in a season.

How about Denver trades Plummer, Champ Bailey, tatum Bell and their first round draft pick (#21) to the Texans in return for Texans #8 draft pick this year. I think this is even trade and both parties are happy.

Bell ran for all of 2 touchdowns last year with a much better o-line than the Texans. I don't see him as a big enough upgrade to tamper with the eighth pick.

We already have a roster full of players who would be "depth" on any other team in the league. Also, we have plenty of FA castoffs from other teams that we paid WAY too much for, putting us on the brink of Cap Hell.We need starters and impact makers that we get primarily through the draft. Although, I like Damion McIntosh as a FA LT. I would target McIntosh and Asante in Fa(pay what ya have to for Asante), try to trade back with NE(both their 1st round picks for #8) and go D BIGTIME on day 1 in the draft.

The Texans want to build through the draft, free agency is used to fill in the rest of the holes. These players are free agents for a reason, if they were that good to begin with they would be tagged. We are the Texans, not the Broncos. If we keep taking Denver's castaways we won't ever be any good.

man, i don't see the hype in samuel and clements. i think getting a decent corner in the draft or fa would be better than paying somebody else a pooload of money. haven't we shelled out enough? the cap is really going to stop us from outbiding anybody...

how 'bout this wild trade idea:
our 8th pick for both ne picks would be sweet, but how 'bout #8 for their 1st round 1 pick and samuel? we still get a round 1 and now we get samuel.

Will never happen. Samuels tag makes him worth two 1st round picks.

Why dont we just sit tight and draft the BPA at #8? What is the point in moving back for a non-elite player and picking up an extra 3rd or 4th rounder....sure that later pick may or may not become a starter....But Id much rather sit tight and get a top tier guy

Thank you, I completly agree 100%

That's not entirely true. Sometimes very good players are allowed to become free agents because too much money is tied up elsewhere. NE has managed to avoid this by not paying top $$ to keep guys and reloading through the draft. I agree 100% that it is the proper way to do it. Indy had to let Edge go for that reason. They got very lucky that Addai was available and as productive as he was. I'm not a huge fan of big $$ for FA's, either.

Thank you, lets get good players that we know will start as a rookie, not 3rd and 4th rounders that MAY get some action. A top ten pick is better than 10 3rd round picks.

If the player is good enough the team will spend the money, period. Edge is on the backside of his career and he wanted too much money.
