If Denver Wins Superbowl, Will Kubiak Still Come Here?

I don't know why he would decide to stay, that would give him 3 superbowl rings and he'd have nothing else to prove as a O coordinator. I think Him and Houston is already a done deal.
 
I was thinking the same thing, but from rumors and reports Kubiak coming here is pretty much a done deal. I can't see him changing his mind just to go back and maybe win another Super Bowl as a coordinator.
 
If they won, it would be his 4th Super Bowl ring. I doubt it would have an effect. A head coaching job is a big deal, and it just happens to be for the team in his home town. Kubiak interviewed for job that Dom Capers got with the Texans back in 2001. This is his dream job.

You don't mean Chris Palmer do you? Because Chris's offensive scheme was too predictable and the Denver offense kept the Pats (you know the team that shut down the colts and who won 3 of the last 4 super bowls) off balance all night.
 
I still can't manage to separate Chris Palmer and Dom Capers. I wonder what Palmer's offense would have looked like without Capers' micromanagement of it.
 
I think Chris would have success with a vetern QB, He just has problems developing young QBs. He bombed with Couch and couldn't come up with schemes to protect Carr. If I had a young QB I would keep him away
 
Contrary to what many claim Chris Palmer is a very good offensive coordinator and I think his time in Jacksonville clearly shows that. He was not successfull in Cleveland because you cannot put together a complete offense in two years. The sheer stupidity of the Cleveland Browns front office is evident in that they've existed for 7 years and (including their interim guy) they've had 4 head coaches. That team is being led by fools.

Nobody builds offensive lines in two years when they're starting with zero players on the roster. Palmers offensive philosophy seems to require some bare minimum of pass protection which you won't get in an expansion team. A veteran QB can maybe mitigate some of the problems that come from that but in both experiences Palmer had with expansion teams he opted for a rookie QB which basically aggravated the problem that he already had no solution for.

thats well said and I think Palmer tried to have Carr throw down the field in the right situation but protection broke down or the defense was in the wrong coverage for the play to work meaning the timing was never there. Pendry was much more ball control & three step drops & gave up throwing the deep ball until the Jacksonville game.

To take a promotion, return to his hometown, and do it all while at the high point with the Broncos.... I think he will be on the plane to Houston regardless.

Seems pretty set in stone. I assume that the terms of the contract have been agreed upon. If not BobMcNair could have the joy of having to pay more of a premium for the offensive coordinator for the winning Superbowl team.

I don't know if they're allowed to really discuss specific terms of the deal and come to an agreement on them when he's still under contract with the Broncos.
 
One thing I really liked about the Denver offense.. and the commentators mentioned this too.. they are very unpredictable on 1st downs. They may throw it down field..they may throw a screen..they may run it up the gut.. you never know.. every play seems to be different on 1st down.

By the letter of the law, the Texans can't even offer him the job until his season ends nor can he recruit his staff, etc., but there are plenty of reports about both. None of this is "on the record," but I am going to say that McNair knows whether Kubiak will be making 1.25 million or 1.83 million or whatever the going rate is. It would be silly for either side not to know that.

I sort of thought the same thing early on, short passes to wr's in the flat and then short passes over the middle to his running back. I actually didn't see any suprise calls.
Looked a lot like what we have been witnessing the Texans trying to do. :twocents:

Of course I am not a Kubiak fan. I sure hope he proves me wrong...
