If Bud Adams Gets VY.....

Yea, we'll probably play football. And it'll be another reason to stomp a mudhole in their rears. And if WE get VY, we'll probably play football. And we'll have another reason to stomp a mudhole in their rear.

I still don't get how the Titans get Young if he is a "once in a lifetime" player. Why in the world would the Saints pass up on him?

LOL my thoughts exactly.

Cause they know that he's just a Poorman's Vick. And he'll act like it the first few years and in subsequent years.

Whereas Lienart is a pocket passer who was trained in a pro style offense for 3 years. Who would you pick if you had that choice??

No brainer, in my opinion.

That's what puzzles the crap out of me, also. Why do all these burnt orange cool-aid drinkers automatically assume the Saints would take Leinart over Young?

Good point.

And what would these naysayers be about if we get Young and Bush ends up being a playmaker on the Titans?

There are no guarantees. We have to take the player that is best for our team, not our market.

Simple, the Saints have no current QB. Leinart is ready to play right now, and VY is not. The Saints best OL is their RT Jamaal Brown who woiuld protect the blind side of a Lefthanded QB and their LT is Wayne Gandy who is 34 yrs old and is a turnstile. The GM of the Saints has a huge public relations nightmare going on with the relocation/hurricane issue and can ill afford any reach. And he has to plan on a likely relocation to LA in 07-08..............the best option in every case is Leinart. They need thier pick to play right away, and they have great skill players already but are headless at QB and have been since Bobby Hebert left over a decade ago.

Saints don't have good experience with big running QB's

I, in no way, am advocating picking the guy but how is he a poor man's Vick when Vick has never won a thing in his life and never lead his team to anything? He pretty much still can't throw either. If anything, it is a slap in the face to VY. As for the Saints. They have Horn, McCallister adn other skill players and can be close with a guy ready for the NFL.

What's to say that NO doesn't pick up a good experienced QB and trade out of the second spot whilst it still has a ton of value??? You'd think someone would want to reach up to that spot. Even a top quality rookie QB has some growing pains, especially when there are no mentors. see e.g. D. Carr.

People were saying how Vince would be great for PR in Houston and how he would be very marketable. If the Saints got Vince, they would have a new franchise player, would get the entire UT fan base, own central Texas (therefore taking away any Cowboy or Texan fanbase), and then maybe get enough support to move to San Antonio. It just seems too perfect in my eyes.

On the other hand, I do see Vince struggling in NO since the defenses in that division are geared to stop scrambling QB's since Vick is there. All of the defenses have very good linemen that would neutralize alot of the running. Facing Simeon Rice, Julius Peppers, etc. would not be fun.

The only way that the Saints are going to San Antonio is if 5 million more people move there and they become a major media market.

That was the point of my naming him Poorman's Vick. He hasn't won in the NFL and yes, Vick did lead his team to something unless you don't consider 2003 NFC Divisional Playoff game important.

In fact, Vick has won more than Young at this point in his career(obviously). Hence the term, at the moment, Poorman's Vick.

I go to school in San Antonio and it sure seemed like San Antonio was very close to getting the team. Although it was very sleazy (for lack of better term) to steal the team away b/c of the hurricane, there's no doubt that Benson would have moved IF he could have.

Obviously, I would hate for that to happen. I would never get to see the Texans play with both the Saints and Cowboys coverage.

A.) Vick took his team to the NFC Conference final. Has VY done that yet? B.) He is a very similar player to VY. VY was just fortunate that he played on a team that was just a little better than his.
C.) VY has problems with INTs. If you would have watched the games vs. OSU and Texas A&M and even Texas Tech, VY showed his weaknesses that will be magnified in the NFL.
D.) I don't see how the truth is a slap in the face, unless that's how you want to define a wake-up call.
