That's a totally inappropriate thing to say to him! "he can give some pointer in you troubled school life"? Lke how?! Encourage the young man, don't compare him or tell him who he should be like! Ever parent before?

JT - The history some of us have with 'slatonisabeast' leads us to make recommendations. You may not be aware that the young man has posted on this board ASKING for this very type of advice. Gary is an excellent role model for accomplishing difficult tasks depite hardship.

While all comments are generally welcome, your comment to Joe was off-base. His comments were exactly ON target in this case.
