I like what I saw today, steady improvement

We played a very good Jacksonville team tough in their hosue tihs afternoon. On offense, we make some big plays when we need to, particularly in terms of passing. On defense, we made some impressive stops on 3rd down to get off the field. As far as special teams is concerned, Chad Stanley landed nice punts, and our kick return game wasnt bad.

Todays result was just the way the ball bounces sometimes. However, if we continue to play this type of solid football, we will win more games than we loose from here on in.

Key is, for the fans, to continue to be very supportive of our Houston Texans. It's a little tough slide currently, but good times shouldnt be to far off. We have the players and coaches, now we just have to continue to fight hard, and it will pay dividends in the future.

Welcome to your version of YEAR 1 with the Texans, becasue that is what you sound like. What are you basing this "progress" on? Many of us have been at this for going on the 4th year now.

Let me enlighten you just a tad if you will......WE ARE 1-7.......

1-7.....can you read that or are you looking at the QB rating for one game (a loss I might add) for our #1 draft pick in year one of our real franchise.

You are living in the past with your year one attitude, and as sick of some are of the negative posts here, it turns my stomach to see this kind of attitude that I can promise not one player agrees with

They want to win.....they are losing.......they are NOT happy......things will change soon.......again, spin away, but realize that moving forward with much better results began 3 years ago, not this year alone as you seemingly propose.

We have some players but not the coaches. If Pendry was upset that Carr made that throw, thats a problem. Carr has the arm and has a nice touch on deep balls and we have seen that since game 1 against the cowboys when he has any time. The Oline isn't too bad with Hodgdon starting but there is a big dropoff when any of the current starters step off the field. The defense has been pourous the last 2 years. Seems like there are way to many holes in our zone coverages which makes me wonder why we don't do more man and press their receivers when its 3rd down to make them work for the yardage. Our "bend but don't break" defense doesn't give the offense good field position which makes the coaching staff more pathetically conservative. Running the ball is fine but it seems like everytime we are in a 2 minute situation deep in our territory we always run the ball on the first play and then we end up sitting on the ball. And after the games the coaches will say we wanted to surprise them and give our guys some room...well, bad news every team looks at game film and knows what we are gonna do! Our coaches are afraid to attack the other teams defense or offense!

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you Dom Capers.

We had some "moments" but overall I think we sucked. Jax gave us a lot of stuff. They were not playing Jags ball. Course, without Fred, it's hard. And they got a lot of penalties. Granted, we were playing without Dom, and our defense looked aggressive in the first half, but we fell apart in the third and fourth quarter. We made a lot of bad mistakes. And I know Bradford got a TD, but to me that means nothing since he also didn't catch the ball that would have probably set us up for a TD. Can you get the ball any closer to Bradford? :sarcasm:

I'm fairly sure this guy was just mocking Dom Capers and Capers' usual Caper'isms after a "tough loss where our guys kept fighting..."

This is season is all a bad dream, right? This is not actually happening to us, is it?

Wake me up when a real HC is on the sideline.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz......
