Quietly, I've grown tired of hearing about his "6th rounder to hero" story. It's almost reached Kurt Warner's status.

But now I have this...Tom Terrific is upset...

Guy has pretty much everything you can want in life but damn GM if they're going to be late delivering my free, new $76,000 car simply because I changed my mind after asking for a free, new Escalade.

I now officially do not like Tom Brady...and it's justifiable.

Here's a recap of what the article says...

1. As Super Bowl MVP, Tom Brady is allowed to pick whatever Cadillac he wants (he originally wanted a tricked out Escalade)...free of charge (giving "free" anything to millionaires is in itself a joke).

2. Cadillac informs him that since the vehicle he requested was not yet in production it would take a little longer to deliver (you would think a millionaire wouldn't be put off by the fact he's going to have to wait for his "free" $70,000 vehicle).

3. In April, Brady changes his order for an XLR Roadster - retail $76,200 (none of these were available as GM sold all 5,000 that they made). So GM obliges the millionaire by making another specifically for Brady. Again...free of charge.

4. Lastly, a quote from Brady summarizing his entire horrific ordeal - "I'm not driving [the] car, that's for sure," Brady said. "It's the damndest thing I ever heard. It's ridiculous."

Nah...not a character flaw at all.

I agree with Huge. I have lost some respect for Brady because of this for sure. I think the whole deal with MVP's and such getting cars and other extravagant gifts in exchange for advertising and sponsorships is a scandle in itself, much less how Brady has handled it. If they want to donate a car in return for some air time, I have no problem with that. If they want to call it the "Cadallic MVP", I have no problem with that either. Now, what I DO have a problem with is giving that car/cash to a guy who makes more in a year that the GNP of most small countries. That car or cash equilvent should have been donated by GM to a homeless or abused woman's shelter, maybe an underprivleged youth sports program, et al. If it were me, and I was the MVP, I would raffle it off, donate it, or sell it and donate the cash to a needy cause. There are only about 25 billion more deserving and needy people and/or programs than Tom Brady or any other spoiled athlete. Pathetic.

I've seen Tom Brady come of as spoiled and bratty on many an occasion. He's always seemed rather immature to me. I don't question his playing ability but I definitely don't care for him personally.

If he decides that it's just taking too long to get his car and he doesn't want to wait... they can call me when it comes available (for free) and I'll take it.

If the car was part of Brady's earnings, then, perhaps a disappointment in the delivery schedule is understandable. If the car was a gift, it would be nice if Brady would have been a gracious recipient. Even if he has a different opinion on the selection and how it was handled, it seems impolite to criticize the person/company giving him a present.

One thing to remember is that Brady has already "won" a Caddy from his 2002 SB MVP performance (should have gone to Ty Law). In fact, Brady has had a business relationship with Cadillac since 2002 (see this and this).

Cadillac didn't really "give" Brady these cars...they paid him for services rendered. That 2 parties in a business relationship have a disagreement isn't really that big of a deal.

and while gm may have gone well out of their way to please brady by starting up an assembly line, do we even know what their original terms were? perhaps gm forgot to stipulate wich vehicles the mvp could or couldnt choose. if thats the case would you blame brady? and i guess you guys forgot gm's comercial after comercial before, during ,and after the superbowl. they had no problem at the time pimping themselves as the sponsor of the superbowl mvp award.

b. im not driving the car because i STILL dont have it. ( it didnt take nearly this long last time ).

i dunno vin. we have no indication as to wether or not he knew the vehicle was out of production when he made the order. undoubtedly that would probably change my opinion a lot either way.

im just not ready to change my view of someone's character because some pissed off espn writer says i should. i think theres more to this then we can know. obviously im in the minority here ,and i'm willing to think gm played a part in this "debacle" we havent been told about. plus i enjoy rooting for the underdog i guess.

i would go on about how we dont have brady's side of the arrgument, or how gm got all the attention they wanted during the superbowl ,were slow to make a return on their promise, brady probably could of picked a half dozen vehicles wich were more expensive and or out of production, and how the author of the article clearly went out of his way to demean brady. i could do all of those things...but i might be late for a father son golf tournament. tom will be here to pick me up in his new car soon.

I think both of those reads shed a bad light on Brady:

A. He rufuses to drive the vehicle = Spoiled Brat because he's not getting what he wants, when he wants.

B. He's not driving the vehicle because he doesn't have it = Spoiled Brat because he's already a millionaire who's upset over not having his new toy.

And his quote "It's the damndest thing I ever heard. It's ridiculous." illustrates his frustration...no matter how it's spun. Either way, he's behavior is still asinine.

This would probably be an unfortunate situation for the next MVP and the question of what kind of demands would be attached. Worse yet, if Brady gets it again next year would probably put a damper on any GM awards ceremony. They would probaly question if they could just give the dude a check and be done with it.

Wow, If that is all you guys on here can come up with on Brady. How can you get upset over this! Who cares what car he gets, how he gets it or if he changes his mind! It is trivial. You should be bring up discussions for players who get DUI'S ( not going to say any names)Drug Possession etc.
