Late Feb./Early March in my opinion

Don't get me wrong, this whole VY situation just pushed our final decision back, to at least, the week before the draft. One thing I noticied about McNair, and is the only thing I really like about him about him, is that he doesn't dwaddle on contract stuff, he gets it done. I say the final decision will be a week or two before the draft.

I think they have to have an idea of what they're gonna do by the time they have to pick up Carr's option (right after the super bowl). If they pick up the option, they're probably taking Bush or trading down. They won't trade Carr after picking up the option, because they'll take an $8 million cap hit this year. And I hope they don't try to start Carr and draft Young to sit and watch. That has the makings of one serious disaster. It's gonna be bad enough if they don't draft Young and Carr is here. Imagine if Young is here, and Carr has one bad game.

If they don't pick up Carr's option, then they're more than likely gonna draft Young. They're probably not gonna come right out and say it, but I bet that Carr's option gives a real good indication of what they're gonna do with the draft pick.

Wherever Vince goes he will be better off if he does get to "sit and watch". Carr, of course, was handed the job, has never had any serious competition, and it would have helped him out as far as development goes if he had. It was the same situation with Babin except that he was eventually benched.

The best part about sitting on the bench for a little while, is that you are less likely to pick up on some bad habits. You also have the opportunity to really study the game, and work on those negatives in your scouting report.

Even if they don't pick up Carr's contract, there is still a chance(all be it a slight chance) that Vince isn't the guy they are looking at. I can't see them saying no to Carr, then picking ML, but I can see a trade down, & take Cutler thing happening. Or even going with Ragone....

I think they are fielding there options right now with what they can get with the first pick trade wise. Waiting to see if Ditka is coming out of retirement to trade this years and next years draft for Reggie.

They will most likely have there mind made up before the superbowl. If they pick up Dave's option then they will have decided on Bush. If they dont then they are going to go with Vince Young and I have to buy another new Jersey.

Any one else tired of buying jerseys?

I seriously doubt Reggie is serious consideration for this team, or Kubiak. Not taking anything from Reggie, but he won't go to a "run oriented" team.

I'd say fairly soon after the Superbowl. However, as was posted earlier, you probably should believe that if Carr signs the 3 year deal, they know EXACTLY what they're going to do regarding one player specifically.

Hopefully, not until their 15 minutes draws to the end. There is a good chance some one steps up with a "can't refuse offer" at last moment. I would not be shocked to see someone lower than the Jets make a good bid. There are some "good" players beside QB,Ferguson, Bush White and Hawk. Someone may turn loose a 1st & 2nd this year the same next year and throw in a veteran we could use. All I'm saying we should use every second to squeeze the best offer. I support a trade if good enough but if not, expect a Bush in the backfield which would also address a need for another receiver, IMO.

I would give almost anything for a quick answer on that. Even if they go in a direction I'm completely opposed to I'd be content to see it decided. I believe the environment of the board will improve immensely once this is done. The sooner the better IMO.

when the clock for the pick is less than 15 seconds from expring you will know, you can't make a decision so early cause teams get antsy when that clock is ticking and you never know what you're gonna get.

I think a pure Young versus Bush decision could already have been made (no matter what is said publically) or if they legitmately take in all information the prodays for those guys are not until March 22 and April 2 (Bush), so then it would be after that.

As far as a total decision on whether to actually use the pick, that should go unitl April 29 if they are serious about listening to trade offers because the best one won't come until the Texans are either near or one the clock.

If your idea is a quick resolution to the direction of the team i say the odds are against it.

Who really knows these answers, other than the people making the decisions.

But if I was a betting man, my money would be on picking Bush.

I would say that they will know who they will take between Reggie and Vince shortly, if not already. They will not draft that person until the last moment to take as many offers as possible for that pick.

Well Reggie is a serious consideration for this team and will most likely be the pick. Why wouldn't he go to a "run oriented" team? He is a running back.

When they are on the clock. I'm sure they will have the VY and Bush thing decided but I also think some desparate teams will still be throwing out players and picks for that #1 up until the time the name goes on the card.

Houston is on the clock, with less than 5 minutes to the pick and there is no trade you might have an idea what pick will be. Unless of course they pull a trade prior to being on the clock.
