Well that was rather idiotic. Would think Swearinger would have learned something by now but guess not. Still stupidity on the field in his tackling decisions.

Looks like he was expecting the guy to catch the ball, & he was going low to avoid a hit to the head of a defenseless reciever. But the guy didn't catch the ball, fell to the ground & got a forearm to the head.

Had Dj been looking at his target the whole way through, he could have kept the forearm out of it, still hit the guy, but it wouldn't have been a penalty.


Gotta keep your eyes open.
 
Unless the ball is outside the endzone, the returner should be instructed to take a knee. It's amazing how much their returns still suck even with Marciano gone.
 
Performing this poorly against this bad of a pass defense is mind numbing.

They may not be that bad.

They may look bad against everyone else but since they've got more speed on the field than we do... y'know? Most other teams have at least one burner. we don't.

I'm sorry but that's bull. If the TE catches that and Swag hits him high, that's a penalty. They're taught to aim low, which is exactly what he did. TE dropped that and came down weird. There's nothing the defender can do he was already lined up for the tackle.
