Hottoddie's final 2009 Texan's draft prediction

I do believe we'll trade down in the first & pick up an extra 3rd round pick. In this scenario I'm going with the most predicted trade partner in Philadelphia. We send #15 to Philly in exchange for #21 & #85.

1) James Laurinaitis (OLB/ILB) - They surprise everyone & take the most consistent player available. He might not have a higher ceiling or be glamorous, but the body of his work speaks for itself.

2) Andre Brown (RB) - Andre is the perfect compliment to Slaton & he has the speed/size to beat out Slaton. This pick solidifies our RB tandem.

3a) Chris Baker (DT) - An athletic run stuffing DT that can rush the passer.

3b) Chip Vaughn (SS) - A hard hitting in the box SS that will bring the intimidation factor the Texan's are sorely missing over the middle.

4a) Phillip Hunt (DE) - Non-stop motor & reminds some of Freeney.

4b) David Bruton (FS) - Great speed, hands, & instincts. Also, is a very good special teams player.

5) Johnny Knox (WR) - Bye bye JJ. This kid has the speed of JJ, but he also has incredible hands. He should be a great replacement on returns for JJ.

6) Anthony Parker (G/C) - Versatile player that can play both guard spots & center. Ideal fit for the ZBS.

7) Brandon Swain (DE) - Intriguing prospect.
