Texans | Wells Could Be Top Backup in Week 2 - from www.KFFL.com

The Houston Chronicle reports Houston Texans RB Jonathan Wells would serve as the team's No. 2 running back in Week 2 if RB Tony Hollings (knee) is unable to play.

This sucks I hope it is not serious. When are we going to know the results of the MRI. Also I am really getting tired of all these chronic injuries hampering some young players on our team. I worry about this everytime we draft a player who has had previous knee injuries.

Anything involving a knee is scary for a football player, and it's especially scary when it involves a knee that's had surgery. And it's gotta really mess with his
mind. I sure hope it's nothing real serious.

Carter Toole, of HoustonTexans.com, reports Houston Texans RB Tony Hollings (knee) underwent an MRI Thursday, Sept. 16, on his right knee and is now listed as probable for the Week 2 game against the Detroit Lions Sunday, Sept. 19. Hollings injured his knee during non-contact drills Thursday and if he can't play, RB Jonathan Wells would be the team's backup running back this week.

Hollings will be the 2nd stringer for Sunday.....no biggie.

Edit:
My bad.... :hehe:
I meant to say Wells would be the back up. The Texans confirmed it yesterday....just don't remember where I read it. idonno:

If Tony can't practice today, and I heard he couldn't, then Wells will backup DD.

If the Lions get frisky on the blitz, Wells is a good guy to have back there.

According to Charlie Casserly on 610am this morning, Hollings is out for the Lions, and Wells is the backup.

Just heard a report on 610 stating the MRI report shows the injury is
unrelated to the knee component that sustained the ACL in college.
That's a relief.

i saw hold him out. DD has shown he can more than shoulder the load. Wells can get a couple of short yardage situations and it will be nice to see how Wells runs with an offensive line and an offense, since the last time he really played any it was with the first year expansion team. would be nice to get a new evaluation on him.
