Chargers at Texans: I'm not sure that San Diego RB LaDainian Tomlinson will have a monster game, but you've obviously got to play him ... Chargers TE Antonio Gates is a player people have been talking about, and I think he'll be a factor ... The Texans have looked awful in the preseason both offensively and defensively. Perhaps the only player worth going with from Houston is WR Andre Johnson, who is going to be a big-time player ... If RB Domanick Davis is healthy, he might be worth playing. Gill Brandt nfl.com

did he even watch any of our games? doubtful!!

Do it in the Tailgate section of "Texans Discussions". Once you're in the "Texans Tailgate" forum go right into " Tickets, PSL's & Parking Passes " and post them there.

If what I just wrote makes no sense....don't worry, the mods will move it for you.

I think the 2nd and 3rd team offense has looked terrible, and they have had the majority of the snaps. I bet he is is just looking at the overall stats. I will say that the first team offense has looked good for the most part, only needing to do a bit better in the red zone. This has been by far the best the offense has looked. As for the defense, the first team really hasn't been on the field all at the same time, but I don't think "terrible" is too far off base. They have had trouble with all three important fazes of defense; the run, pass defense, and pass rush. Can't sugarcoat it. I think the D needs another good draft, and some time to jell, and they will be fine. Depth all around is still lacking in many areas, but getting better, with the best depth in the secondary and at WR, followed closely by the offensive line. But, if we have major injuries in the front 7, we are looking at 5-6 wins. If the front 7 stays healthy, we are in store for 7-8 wins. :twocents:

Surprisingly, Gil didn't watch the Cowgirl game. The Texans didn't look "awful" in that game.

Once a Cowgirl, always a Cowgirl...right Mr. Brandt?

I agree word for word with Porky. The defense really hasn't shown me we are ready to go to the next level just yet but maybe this year our offense makes the kind of plays that keeps our defense off the field more and contributes when the defense is playing well.

:hehe:

honestly, preseason was a showing of our soon to be potent offense. i dont think our starting defense showed a whole lot though. but i know they will throw all sorts of formations at the chargers offense and hopefully that can slow them down. after a few series they will gel a bit better and know each other tendencies. im looking for our defense to be great after the first couple of games in time for kc and the vikings.

Thanks for that link, I havent laughed that hard in a long time. They honestly believe Tomlinson is going to get like 250 yards of total offense.

good post Pork. I agree we do need another year or two of drafts and defensive gelling. But we will be better this year. The offense will score more and the defense will be on the field less. That will help us in almost every stat that you can envision.

I don't think it is all that bad that the media and some of the other teams are not expecting anything from us this year, it will just be more of a shock when we start handing out the ***** whippins...

np

I've been having some fun with them the past couple of days

if they weren't so crazy, I would give them props for staying behind their team, but they must all be high though, saying how their no-name, talentless WRs are gonna burn Dunta deep all game long

somehow SD fans think LT is going to run well behind 2 rookie OL men. please, when was the last time an offense started 2 rookies on the OL and the running back ran like he did with a veteran line. i know LT is good and all, but you can't run if the OL doesn't open up holes for you. even without Payne, the Texans have 2 veteran probowl caliber DEs and add sharper behind that and wham. no way san diego. you're on the down and the Texans are on the up. the only big problem i see is if SD throws alot of screens to LT which could open up some bigger plays, but still i thinkl the Texans have been working in practice to stop that.

I lost it when I read this from a Chargers fan over there! LOL! :boxing:

Well jabar Gafney nor Bradford worry me Jammer will have Johnson sewed up all day after all he he practiced for a year with the most physical receiver in the NFL last year a 250lb David BOston so Jammer will be all over your guy Johnson. Your safeties are gonnna get hurt first by Gates and then Tomlinson. Sharper cant cover either of them. Robinson is gonna get ripped on by a guy that is nearly 5 inches taller than Robinson and rookie corners arent studs. Watched the NFL Rookie Special and Robinson wasn't that sharp of a guy. What is your O line? Not a decent guy there. dont kid yourself about Wade the Dolphins didnt like him. DAve Ragone is an excellent QB not sure about that Carr fella though. I dont see what you see in your team cant see how the passing attack no i dont see how your offense is going to do much of anything. Through my investigative and impervious intellect, I have used an un-biased approach and now feel secure in saying that the Chargers will win BIG not just big but Texas BIG!!!!

Texan84, that 2nd quote is just hilarious. With all that "impervious intellect", he still can't even write legibly.

DAve Ragone is an excellent QB...
Dave Ragone is an excellent QB. Dave Ragone is an excellent QB. Definitely an excellent QB.

Uh oh, 10 minutes to Wapner. 10 minutes to Wapner.

He was still with Cowboys in 1980's when they did hardkly right winning or drafting, I put his opinion right up their with a 3 year old (ok that was mean...my apologies 3 year old didn't mean to insult you). :thumbdown
