Mario Williams is going to make watching the defense a lot of fun this season. I salute the front office for ignoring the local and public pressure, and making the decision that they felt was best from the team.

This was, of course, not a popular pick. But you know what . . . so what?

Look at the bright side. We got a pass rush. We FINALLY have a pash rush!
 
Well maybe maybe not. This guy hasn't played one down yet in the NFL. As much as he may be a freak of nature he may also be a big flop. Lets see him and this defense play a few games before we make this assertion.
 
The Texans definitely stood their ground and took who they felt was the best player in the draft. Reggie Bush would have been the easy way out.

I am finally looking forward to seeing our defense on the field.

Yes we do, we have a 295 lb. freak at weakside DE on 1st and 2nd down and then he bumps to strongside and Peek comes in at weakside on 3rd downs and we have a nice pass rush, I could easily see us putting up 40-50 sacks this season. Looks like Jason Babin has become expendable. I also hope we play whatever team D'Brickashaw Ferguson gets drafted to, then we can see what a 1st overall pick DE does to a good LT.
 
Williams not only instantly improves our defensive line, but he could also help LB and CB play by taking on double teams and getting in the backfield wreaking havoc. I am starting to like the pick more and more.
 
I will love watching Mario chasing Reggie in a titans uniform about five steps behind him running down the sidelines.

No, what you have is a 295 lb. guy who trained real hard for the combine. He didn't even play well for a full season and he wasn't even the MVP on his own team. The player you got has bust written all over him! Remember how excited you were about this pick when the defense isn't a whole lot better and neither is the offense.
