Georgia suspends Todd Gurley over alleged NCAA violations

Georgia sent waves throughout the college football community on Thursday.

The school announced in a statement that star running back Todd Gurley was suspended indefinitely due to an investigation into an alleged violation of NCAA rules.

"I'm obviously very disappointed," Bulldogs head football coach Mark Richt said in a statement. "The important thing for our team is to turn all our attention toward preparation for Missouri."

Gurley leads the team in rushing with 773 yards and has nine total touchdowns for Georgia this season.

Well that sucks for Goergia fans. As far as Gurley I seriously doubt he is a even worried about this. Guy is already a shoe in for the first round I anything this knocks him to the high second.

This is starting to sound more and more like that Manziel autograph case. There are strange (unconfirmed) rumors going around about some Florida fan/memorabilia dealer setting up Gurley in this case and then turning him in.

If true, Gurley is going to be ineligible and he should be. He knew the rules. Still though, how low do you have to be to intentionally take advantage of these kids and then screw them over because you didn't make as much money off them as you had hoped for?
