Anyone know anything about this guy, other than he's moved around alot? I think he's currently ranked as a 2nd round prospect but we all know that early ranking are often wrong and QB's get overdrafted because of the premium on their position. Everything I read is positive, but take those with a grain of salt, with reportedly a strong arm, capable of making all the NFL throws, athletic and mobile, etc... I personally haven't seen him play other than YouTube highlights. Opinions?

Kiel transferred to Cincinnati. Usually when a student athlete transfers to a lesser or smaller program it's because they weren't good enough. That should tell you all you need to know. If you research why Kiel transferred that's what you will find.
 
I'm not seeing it with him. His numbers look good but I watch Cincy play and all of his completions are easy passes and he makes zero wow throws. He also has suffered 2 concussions this season, the second being a pretty severe one.

Also, as Texian pointed out, he ran from competition at multiple programs. Had nothing to do with the schemes those schools were running (like Savage with Arizona). He was scared to compete.
 
He's got some tools. Goes where he's supposed to with the ball, pretty accurate, has some athleticism to move around.

On the other hand I'm not sure if I see him running a pro offense and he throws without ever using his lower body. He just wings passes with his arm which look to coast to where they're headed. No zip at all. Assuming he can make pro reads, and that's just an assumption right now, I don't know if he can physically wing the ball into to tight pro windows without getting picked off lots.

And then there are the things that Texian and WF mentioned.
 
He looked good I thought against UH this weekend. Will stay in the pocket and take a hit to make the throw.

Agree.

Cincy has two WRs that are better pro prospects than Kiel. Moore had a great game. Cincy's defense is what kept the game close. Houston got their yards like usual, but Cincy made them work very hard for it and forced Ward into two turnovers.

Kiel's stats do look good, and I have to give him credit for his willingness to attack downfield, but he directly gave UH 9 points with the pick six and then taking the safety later. He also had the bad INT when they were down 11 approaching the red zone. His defense got the ball back and he did answer with a score.

His defense gets him the ball back again down 3 with two minutes left and he goes 1/6 on that drive to turn it over on downs.

When I watch him play he actually kind of reminds me of Mallett in college, who I did not grade highly.

I'm glad someone else saw this too. I want his receivers though. They were outstanding.
