"The biggest thing is his development at quarterback and how well he and his teammates understand the game," David says, "It's how hard he works and how much time he puts in."
"Physically," says brother David Carr, "the kid has more talent than anyone I've seen at his age. The guy could probably play on the Fresno State basketball team and score 30 points a night."

Fresno State has never seen anything quite like this. It had a Carr before, but he didn't come with this sort of anticipation. He didn't come to town as a Heisman candidate, he was just another guy on the bench people didn't know a lot about.
No, Hulk75 was the middle brother. He played DT at UH for awhile. Can't remember his name. There was a rumor that one of old DC homers was David's little brother, I wonder if it him.

A quarterback can't fix everything, as David's time with the Texans showed. He jokes that if he could change one thing about his career it would be to "play baseball in college to have a chance to not get drafted by an expansion team.

lol :wadepalm:
Sounds like Dave's a little bitter nowadays.
Yeah because his career has prospered with non-expansion teams. The dude was, is, and will always be a joke for an NFL qb. Thanks for shoving him down our throat McNair.
All I know is that when he was a Freshman or Sophomore at Clements HS in Sugar Land, he got tackled on one play and walked towards the bench crying, or so it is said by numerous people who have told me this.
On second thought, we should sign this kid as an UDFA and use him as a mck quarterback and dress him up in a Titans uni, that should get our defense fired up!
In the end, I was one of DC's biggest detractors; however, I don't blame David or his little brother for feeling bitter towards the Texans. The Texans mad a lot of mistakes in thier history and drafting a QB, any QB, with the first overall pick may be one of the biggest. You have to remember that the o-line is one of the hardest parts of the team to develope. It can take years to develop a solid line and we had no line to speak of; I mean really 249 sacks in 5 years. You can't play QB when you lying on the ground.
Look at the histoy of first franchise QB picks ~ Kerry Collins and Tim Couch. Neither really made a splash in the NFL. I've always thought the Texans would have been better off building the franchise a few years before they worried about getting a "face of the franchise".
I don't know if David would have ever amounted to anything as a QB, but he sure didn't have much of a chance here.
So this is the same kid that's going to start for Fresno next year ?
Where did he play the rest of his HS football after leaving Clements HS ?
They moved back to California after his junior year . I think he played at Bakersfield Christian or something like that .
I've seen him play my son's senior year and his junior year . Was he the best QB that I saw that year , nope ( that guy went to Tech ) . Was he that great of an athlete , not compared to the QB I saw who went to OU as a SS . I did see him get his clock cleaned running up the middle , straight up and in a straight line , right into a 230 LB . His helmet flew off and he had that deer in the headlight look .
Irony is a funny thing.

Are you speaking of Jacob Karam (TTU) from Friendswood and Corey Proctor (OU) that went to Pearland a few years ago?
Yep ... Sam was a year ahead of my son Jacob was Carr's age .
Rep your way...its still hard for people to admit that any chance Carr may have had to become a star in this league was ruined during his years here & how this team was put together. I was at the draft party in the dome when he was drafted, even got interviewed & there wasn't a single person in that building who thought we should've taken anyone other than Carr at the time....at least not around me..& i was sitting front row.
He didn't work out, admit that you were wrong about him & move on.
As I said earlier, neither the organization or Carr did each other any favors, but Carr has had 3 other teams to get his career on track. In Carolina and San Fran he had opportunities to grab the QB1 spot and couldn't do it.........I don't buy it that he suffers from some sort of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder....
