Gronk suspended one game for late hit

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski has been suspended one game by the NFL without pay for his late hit on defenseless Buffalo Bills cornerback Tre'Davious White in Sunday's 23-3 victory.

Gronkowski, was penalized on the play but not ejected from the game. It is the first NFL suspension for Gronkowski since he entered the league as a second-round draft choice with the Patriots in 2010.

I know Gronk doesn't have a history of behavior this bad and that he apologized to White later, but that hit was so dirty that I'm surprised the suspension is only for one game.

He should be suspended for the rest of the season. That was late, dirty, cheap, all of the things the NFL is trying to "clean up". It was complete bush league. And he gave the guy a concussion.

Iloka got 1 game for his blast on Brown and Shuster-Smith got one game for his blast on Burfict. Those were "football plays". Nasty hits, but in the game hits. And THEY GOT ONE GAME?! Gronk got the same penalty for a blatant cheap shot that concussed the fella laying on the ground. not very fair if you ask me.

He was channeling his inner Aaron Hernandez with that cheap shot BS. I agree that he should have received more punishment. I like Gronk as a player and he's fun to watch, but there is absolutely no excuse for his behavior.

That hit which he delivered with his metal brace is just like intentional targeting with a helmet, except, even more dangerous, Gronk's full 265 lb weight was concentrated behind the hit. It was very delayed and no way was it not intentional..........and should have carried a much more severe penalty/suspension.

Now this suspension in not warranted. BB and Tom MUST WIN the superbowl to prove that that Vince McMahon, no no Goodell was wrong for giving Gronk a suspension in the first place.
