Three halfbacks in the top 5. We won't see something like that again for a while I bet. I see the board has scattered opinion at the top also. 9 guys named seems like quite a bit.
In the last week, The Dallas Morning News polled 26 NFL teams, asking them to identify the top player on their draft board. Nine players were named, but Brown was mentioned most, by eight teams.

Biggest surprise to me was how highly Erasmus James is listed. I realize this isn't a mock, but if some teams really have him rated that high, he could become one of those surprise picks which pushes someone down to #13.

I saw James in some of those vids from the combine and he looks like a heck of an athlete. He was tearing up those position drills. I’d have to see him play more to give a deep opinion, but he is quick and agile at worst.

The biggest drawback that James has is his durability. When he's healthy he's an excellent pass rusher. He is sort of reminds me of Jevon Kearse. They both do a great job of not allowing the OT to get his hands up into his body. James might be a little bigger than Kearse, but they're both pretty quick and unfortunately they're both pretty injury prone. I'm sure the Chiefs are eyeing a DE now that they picked up Surtain from the Dolphins. If James falls then they might be able to grab him.

I found the bottom 20 to be really interesting. Names that aren't that herald like JOrdan Beck, Marviel Underwood, Ellis Hobbs, Nick Kaczur, Darnet Williams, Channing Crowder, Leroy Hill, Trai Essex and at 100 Chris Canty. Some names are lowere then I'd thought they be, espically Crowder and Canty, some I didn't even think would make the top 100 Beck and Williams; and some I'v enot heard of till now.

Goose's mock tommorow should be intersting.

Hobbs is a talented CB from ISU. I find it a bit surprising to see him in the top 100, but he'll definately be a good pickup for whichever team grabs him in the later rounds.

anyone else happen to catch the Senior Bowl and the pre-game taped interview of Pollack standing next to James? it really looked to me like one of them was playing out of position if they both where DE's. James is much bigger in person and intimidating prospect the kind that strikes fear in opposing offenses. he most definetly has the frame to add weight without impacting his speed & like most all College players coming to the NFL, except Maryland players, will need to get stronger. he would be a great fit in Detorit.

I think that James would most likely be used like Strahan at LE, I mean he has the same body type and acceleration.

The NFL player I've seen James compared to the most is Simeon Rice...Both are great at getting to the QB and both are almost identical size...Erasmus is a huge boom or bust guy...Either he'll average 8 sacks a year or he'll be am often injured journeyman...
