The Giants agreed to terms with former Houston Texans' linebacker Jay Foreman to replace Carlos Emmons, who was placed on injured reserve with a pectoral injury. New York signed Kevin Lewis earlier this week to replace the injured Chase Blackburn.
Foreman, 6-foot-1 and 242 pounds, is a seven-year player who has been a starter with both Buffalo and Houston. He was in training camp with the Oakland Raiders this summer but was released on September 3.
The former Nebraska star has started in 62 of his 81 career NFL games and has totaled 356 tackles and 4.5 sacks.
He started 11 games for the Texans in 2004 before a high ankle sprain ended his season. Foreman, the son of ex-Minnesota Vikings' great Chuck Foreman, finished the season with 102 tackles and a fumble recovery.
