The car was in mint condition... I hope they can fix it, but the roof damage is pretty bad from what I've been told.


ATLANTA (AP) -- It's a Rambling Wreck from Georgia Tech, and it will take a hell of an engineer to get it going again.

The vintage car that has led the football team onto Grant Field before Yellow Jackets games since 1961 was wrecked for real as it was being towed to Savannah to be used in a wedding.

That's too bad. A lot of people in my family have gone to Georgia Tech and I am a HUGE Tech fan, I hope they can get it fixed.
 
That is a sad story. Hopefully they can find a vintage car owner that would be willing to donate something that could be morphed into it. Or maybe they can just start a new tradition along similar lines. I love college football traditions....well male cheerleaders errr yell leaders in all-white....
i guess I would have to pass on that one....

Good. Hate to have a piece of history not be able to be out there. It be like a UT game without Bevo or a UGA game without Uga.

Watch it.. PETA wants those things. No animal mascots period.

Georgia Tech is safe.. it has a Car and someone dressed up like a Yellowjacket as mascots.

There is a dealer of antique car parts there in Georgia that has most of what they need for repairs. This guy has a warehouse full of parts for cars from the late 20's through 40's..

But it isn't cheap...and there may have to be some fabrication done.

That's something I don't get. Why would PETA be against mascots? Those mascots live a whole lot better than their non mascot brethern. Bevo lives a wonderful life. So does Ralphie and Uga. And lets not forget the Yale mascot. He gets his pick of the bitches. Afterall, he is Handsome Dan!
