First mock draft that I have done before.
First Round: Stephen Hill, WR, Georgia Tech
This guy is tall and fast (most I've seen have him at 6' 4''). Even if Kendall Wright was here, I would still take Hill. It's about time the team invests in a skill position on offense in the first round. Stephen Hill is really raw, but has arguably the highest ceiling of WRs in the draft. No other WR has his combination of speed and height. Plus, the guy is a good blocker (blocked for the GT run-oriented offense). He just fits with the Texans. Just needs some time to learn how to read defenses better and run good routes. It's a gamble, but I think it'll pay off.
Second Round: Ronnell Lewis, OLB, Oklahoma
Lewis provides great depth at the OLB/ILB position. He has great speed and explosion, which is what the Texans already have at that position. He plays the run well and rushes the passer. He exploded while playing DE, but I don't think moving him back to OLB is going to hurt this rookie. Can also play inside. The best thing I like about Lewis is that when he went against the best offensive lineman, he played his best.
Third Round: Brandon Brooks, OT/OG, Miami (OH)
Brooks didn't even get invited to the combine, but really showed out at his pro day. He's big (6'5'') and ran a 4.98 in the 40. After checking him out, he is basically Eric Winston's draft day friend Charles Spencer. Will be an absolute beast in the run game. They say his attitude can be a little problem, and that he needs a good OL coach to help him work on technique, but we have the best for that here. He only played LG/LT in college, but I'm sure he can transition to the right side and give some competition to Butler.
Fourth Round A: Ladarius Green, TE, University of Louisiana-Lafayette
Tall, and will provide mismatches over the middle, that the Texans currently don't have.
Fourth Round B: Brandon Washington, OG, Miami
Now we get a player from the REAL Miami. I like Brandon Washington. Many say he should have stayed in school for another season, but we have the best OL coaches in Houston. He plays best on the inside. I like the fact the he is said to play with a mean streak. He'll do fine in both run and pass support. Doesn't excel at either, but plays both really well. Penalized only 8 times in 1700 snaps. An improvement over Winston.
Fifth Round: Chase Ford, TE, Miami
I like taking the project TE with stud potential here. This guy is HUGE (6'7''), and showed some natural pass catching ability at the East-West Shrine Game. He only at 16 catches at Miami in two years though. His blocking skills also aren't very good yet, but that's something that can be taught (and a lot of it is effort anyways). I think he can be a huge mismatch with his height and speed as a TE.
Or T.Y. Hilton from Florida International. Great speed and will take over PR duties from Jacoby and KR duties from Manning
Sixth Round: Akiem Hicks, DT, Canada
Let's take the Canadien here. I've seen this guy taken anywhere from Round 4 to Round 7, so if he is here when the Texans pick in the sixth round, I would take him. Depending on what other teams are doing, if Chase Ford is going to drop to our sixth pick, I would take Hicks in the fifth. I think he has some good potential. I know Wade likes smaller NTs better, but this guy can work (large and quick). Playing in Canada against weaker competition is a small red flag.
Seventh Round: Carson Wiggs, K, Purdue
I would like the Texans to take this strong legged, rookie kicker with their last pick. Bring in some competition for Rackers. Would be nice to have a young kicker and punter as well.
