Game 16...First Game Of The New Year...Tennessee Titans!

JamTex

Hall Of Fame Texans Fan!
Well this is it folks. The last game of the Regular season and our Houston Texans are already Division Champs so it means absolutely nothing.
The Texans will travel to Nashville on Sunday, Jan 1 2017 to take on the Titans in Nissan Stadium at noon.
The Game will be aired on CBS locally.
The Titans will be without Marcus Mariota. It was really sad to see him go down against the Jaguars with a broken leg. One of 3 important players that suffered that same fate this past weekend.
Without Mariota, the Titans will be starting Matt Cassel at quarterback.
The question is, should the Texans play starters and go for the win in this game, or should they rest them? In my opinion, Savage needs to play to get that very important game experience under his belt before taking on the who ever we play in the first round of the playoffs. Which means, the rest of the starting offense should be out there so he can got those reps with them to build chemistry. If this happens, the Texans should win this game. We shall see what O'brien will do in this situation.
I think it would also be beneficial to go into the playoffs on a winning streak. That will build team confidence and they need it.
So on that note, what do you guys think the Texans should do in this game?

GO DIVISION CHAMP TEXANS!!!

Meh rest all the starters savage does need reps but he can do it with the b team only a qtr Imo

Infant I really think our b and c team could beat the titans lol

Normally when the Texans run on 2nd down every single time regardless of distance or repetitiveness(with the exception of the 2 minute drill and the 4th quarter) I get upset. This game I probably wont. Just rest Miller and Fiedo and finally change your stupid predictable tendency in the playoffs

Put Miller in bubble wrap and let him rest for players. Our banged up defensive players that are playing through injuries with a high risk of reinjury need to sit as well. Looking at Jo Jo, Mercilus, Clowney and Cushing.

All other important players should play with a preseason snap count. No more than a half. And only that much because we can only sit 8!

8? Did you mean 7?

My inactive list would look something like:
Weeden
Clowney
JoJo
Mercilus
Miller
Cushing
Wilfork

I like that except activate Weeden to sit another starter in need of rest. Is Bouye banged up? He left the game briefly.
I think he got a foot to the nuts when he was making a tackle. After the tackle, he grabbed his groin - I was afraid it was a groin pull. But then he was right back in after sitting out a moment. so must have been the nutz.

He's too important. Put the nuts in bubble wrap!

I'd like to see the Texans win just so they can be 6-0 in the division, other than that, Savage needs the playing time.

I am not holding any hope of the Texans making it past the first playoff game unless Savage comes alive.

In re: first playoff game, I don't want the Chiefs here. I think they'd kick the Texans arse again. Then again, if it's the Raiders or Fins, and Texans win, then they get to its ass kicked in NE...

Savage obviously needs time with the firsts.
Other than that, you really have to rest the injured starters.
This is a golden opportunity to give the fringe players some game time - I would include Tyler Ervin in the running back corp and give Stephen Anderson a start.
Get Dillon plenty of reps too.

Start the 1st team offense and let Weeden work with them so he can be ready if needed. Or alternately, let Savage work with them so he can get better acquainted. Rest the defensive starters.

Savage has to play. I start all my starters (if healthy, banged up guys will sit the whole game) and if they play well in the first half, they can come out in the 2nd. Our offense needs all the reps they can get

pretty much agree with this except I would replace Weeden with Simon
I don't know personally how Simon feels, but I'd prefer him playing a bit. He's been out for a while, so want him to get some reps to get ready for playoffs.

yeah I can see that but I'd prefer him to be 100% for the playoffs

Dillon tore his ACL.

4 point dawg to MATT Cassel and the Tacks! Smh.
I think Vegas believes Texans are resting the starters. Despite what BOB says, I don't think we'll be seeing much of Clowney, JJo, Cushing & Miller (if at all)

Titans are going for the winning season.

I don't know whether the Tacks have any hope for a wildcard if they win. I know the the game is for practice to the Toros.

Titans 30
Texans 23

Texans 34, Titans 16

I expect a boring yet satisfying win.
A perfect 6-0 division record this year!

It's been a fun year making the playoffs again.
Now let's shock the world and reach Super Bowl 51.

We'll become the first team in NFL History to win a Super Bowl inside their own stadium!!!!!

I despise the Tits in a very bad way. I wish nothing but the worst for them, and I hope the Texans kick their fkn ass! :texflag: :)

Tits - 13
Texans - 17

The Titans surprisingly has the NFL's third-best running gamewith DeMarco Murray and rookie Derrick Henry. We'll need to stop the Titans rush game.

BTW, the Texans are a 4 point dog.
