Gallery coming to Houston

Gallery is finally on his way to Houston, as a Raider. Anyone else impressed with the offensive line & Collins setting up in the pocket? I'd hate to say so but looks like the Raider offensive line are putting things together at the wrong time (Texans next weekend) & Gallery is grasping the NFL looking more dominate with each game. It will be a test to see if the Texans can apply pressure to Collins (Gannon questionable) at the same time fun to watch Gallery work in person. :headbang:

it will be collins at QB and gallery has looked impressive...but that was expected by me...to me he was the safest pick in the draft followed by taylor and roy...oakland had a very solid draft and gallery will probably be one of the best picks overall in the entire draft...welcome to the next tony boselli

Matress Mack should never have left in the first place.

Yeah that stunk. After all we've done for him he goes and signs an exclusive right to negotiate agreement with Oakland and then has the nerve to cancel one of the pre-holiday season sales because of some dubious complaint about the sales floor surface not being up to national furniture store standards and possibly even being too dangerous for his sales people to work on.

If he was the next Tony Boselli, he'd all ready have the LT position with the Raiders nailed down, but the entrenched journeyman guy playing that spot was better than him. Then they tried him at LG, but the vet there was also too good for Gallery to displace, so they found a place at RT(don't know if the regular RT was injured or what). Naw, you don't use #2 overalls on a RT.
Especially in a great draft class like the '04 when you can have your pick of
players like S.Taylor, R.Williams, Fitzgerald, Winslow, etc. The guy may have a
long career in the NFL, but not as another T.Bosseli.

Jonathan Ogden is the best LT in the game today, and he had a similar start as Gallery. Ogden was shifted around his first year and finally settled in at LT later. Just because Gallery didn't start at LT from day one doesn't mean he can't be the next Boselli.

thanks wags...nunusguy...you do spend a number 2 on a RT when he is your missing link in your offensive line...if you believe he will be a pro bowler for years to come...if you think he can make the transition eventually to LT...and i'll give you three tackles in college eric winstrom, alex barron, and jammall brown...all will come into the league as RT's and all will eventually make the transition to LT...and you need to stop thinking about the draft being about numbers...it doesn't matter where you are drafting in the first round you draft the player you think will help your team the best...doesn't matter what position...otherwise...safties and tight ends and fullbacks would never be drafted in the first round

I was with you Keyfro until you got to the place where I truncated the first part of your quote, then I got lost. Where you say you shouldn't think about
numbers or where you're at in the draft, I'm sure you're not saying that the #22 has as much value as the #2, so what exactly are you saying ?
But safty, TE, and FB are less important positions than CB, WR, and RB and therefor are less apt to be selected in the first round than the others. OK, so finish your thought if you would.
Are you making the argument that team needs should trump taking the Best Player Availabe on the board when a teams pick rolls around ?
