OK, I am really bored today so I was going through some stats, and according to NFL.com, we are 13th in the NFL in rushing yards per game allowed, and #1 in the NFL in rushing TD's allowed with only 4 allowed this season, we are tied for 3rd in the NFL with 20 INT's. Does being #1 in the NFL in rushing TD's allowed shock anyone like it does me? I mean we have allowed only 4 rushing TD's this season, wow. :bguitar:

Maybe a little surprised, but it's not that startling, we always seem to get burned by QBs in the endzone, not someone breaking a long run.

Wow...that got me thinking...and sure enough...I can't think of too many runningbacks that have scored on us.
I think Ladanian scored on us in week 1, and now I draw a blank.

Zeroue had that 60 yard run against us when we played the Raiders and he broke, like, 7 tackles...but I cant remember the others...

Looked it up, Zeroue had 2, Tomlinson 1 and Curtis Martin 1

We've actually been pretty good against the run other than the Jets game and that long 60 yarder to Amos (ugly tackling)

Of course, maybe we're focusing so much on it that the pass defense is suffering?

More likely our pass rush has just been so abysmal the DBs don't stand a chance

Kind of strange, because we seem weak against the run up the middle. Would have thought we would give up the TD run at the goalline.

Might be our streaky defense. Either we stop them and make them kick it up further out or we're giving up a 15-yd TD pass.

It doesn't surprise me any more than the fact that up until last week the Texans had allowed the most passing TDs in the league. Even with no TDs allowed over the last 2 3/4 games, they are still 31st in the league in that department - only GB is worse.

Hey aj...any idea what the Texans redzone defense is ranked at?

Not sure about that one. That's a stat you typically don't see and I let my PFW online subscription expire -- I think that was one they tracked. Maybe someone else knows where to get that one. I'd be interested too.

Found this on Yahoo sports...

#2 Indianapolis (allowed lowest point total and 4 sacks on Manning)

#5 San Diego (lost that game by 1 TD)

#7 New York Jets

#9 Green Bay (We lost by FG closing seconds)

#10 Denver

While I do not hold much with the popularity contests that are rankings, I find it interesting that 3 of the 5 teams ranked in Top 10 we played. We played a darn good game.

Here is something that totally baffled me though, Jaguars still viewed as a playoff team (an act of god from that happening but)

Jaguars

Clinch No. 6 seed with win, Broncos loss, Bills loss PLUS Ravens loss or ANY of the following: Chiefs win, Bengals loss, Browns loss, Jets loss or Redskins loss.
Eliminated with loss/tie OR Broncos win/tie OR Bills win/tie.

There are many Texans stats you'd be surprised about. Fact is that Houston teams rarely get top billing and are easily dismissed by the media and otherwise.
Unfortunately, our team is still trying to get out from under Butt Adams grey cloud and Oilers history in this town.
Our Texans are going through a "prove yourself" stage. We are easily dismissed by the media and therefore by the public. Every big milestone we go through is overlooked or taken lightly by the media and public.
That's why very few people know about some of our great stats including:
Texans are one quarter away from tying the record for most quarters played without allowing a scoring TD in NFL and one away from breaking it. Look at our stats history and yet we are not taken seriously. The Jags are a great example. Here are some examples of how our team has been under-rated.

-Dallas Cowgirls - shut out this year! Favored.
-Tennes--see's NOW - SWEEP! Favored.
-Jacksonville - SWEEP! Favored. Yet we shut out (1st time since 95)
-Green Bay - won by 3 at the last minute. Were supposed to kick our butt
-Colts - were allowed the least scoring points this season by the Texans. Were supposed to kick our butt
-Minnesota - OT - We won't go down easy. Were supposed to kick our butt
-Duh' Bears.....ummmm.....Duh' Bears! Were supposed to hold our butt in cold weather.
-Chiefs - stadium is supposed to be the loudest...ummm we're used to it from home. RELIANT! They were supposed to kick our butt

Folks! Our team has beat great teams, yet just BARELY got beat by other great teams. We have put up a fight repeatedly yet have gone un-noticed.
That's ok! You can really kick someone's butt when they least expect it. And just because it doesn't make the papers it doesn't mean people don't notice.
If people are talking SMACK about our team, as they usually do. It means SOMEONE IS NOTICING.

Go Texans! Our day has come! 8/8 let's make a statement. We'll be back in FULL FORCE!:BananaWav  :coolb:
