Forget drafting DBrick or OL too early...

Starting O lineman are being cut left and right! And we haven't even hit "Bloody Thursday" yet. Virtually every OL position has quality STARTERS available this offseason! And since the market will be flooded with them, we should be able to nab a couple of them for decent money.

Fix our OL via free agency and draft REGGIE!!!

Well, how many franchise LT's have been cut so far?? All the good linemen cut so far are up there in age with large contracts. :twocents:

So...how many of them would you actually want to sign if you didn't have a man crush on RB??

(Sorry in advance Vinny)

NONE!!!!

Which is why this entire notion of FA linemen is not a very solid option. WE end up with Todd Wade, Steve McKinny, and Victor Riley. OTHER teams, teams that are only missing one piece on the o-line or who are close to contention, they are the ones who sign the one or two starting quality 2 years into their contract guys.

That seems like a great idea. Lets sign 2-3 over-the-hill linemen for way over market value so they will come to a 2-14 team. Then watch Carr take the beating of his life...which says a lot.

Yeah, you guys are right.

LeCharles Bentley (26)
Steve Hutchinson (28)
Damien McIntosh (28)

None of those guys would help us out much.... Lets draft a rookie with no experience to solve all our OL problems. Then still have nobody who can get in the freaking endzone....

the only ot in that list is mcintosh and he is hardly a franchise lt

you know i don't understand why so many people are forgetting that our most dire need is O-LINE...you build a team via the draft...there will not be a franchise LT released today or any day for that matter...you have to draft these guys...otherwise seattle would have let walter jones go to keep shaun alexander...smart teams draft the franchise tackle...if you build a team throw the lines you can put joe blow behind that line to rush for a 1,000yds every year...so stop hating on ferguson...he's clearly the best option for us

What is up with all this Ferguson hateration. It seems to me that alot of people want to select Bush more than do something to get the franchise going in the right direction.

Yea lets not have a Draft day trade that will give us more prospects... Lets try our hand again at free Agency where we have the worst luck of any team.

What FA acquisition have we made that has been so great?

Buchanon?
Greenwood?
Wade?
Riley?
Rivers?
Robaire?

Please let me know why we should pursue a FA, when all that has done in the past is hindered the growth of our franchise?

From your list I'd have to say Riley - he was that LT we've been looking for, right? I don't know how many times after the 2004 season I heard replacing Wand would fix the o-line problems. He took the job after one day of training camp - he must have been awesome!

Yeah, Riley was so great that next year hes gunna be the starter at butt back. Every time he asks Kubiak to get in the game Kubes says "get yo but back"... on the bench that is.

Good luck with that...Bentley is set to sign with Philly, Seattle will match any reasonable deal to Hutchinson, and Damion McIntosh is garbage, there's a reason why he was realeased (partially because of his cap figure, but mainly because of poor performance)...

If we're going to build a reliable OL, we're going to have to do it either through the draft or by relying on our coaching to get the most out of our current stable...Most likely it will be a mixture of both...
