Hervoyel said:I don't get some of you people. Casserly's an ***** because he overpays but when he cancels a visit from a player he's positive that he'll have to overpay then that also makes him an *****?

aj. said:This was a good non-move. I figured he was headed to Seattle anyway.
Do we know that this person who is criticizing Casserly for a "non move" is also a member of the "I hate Casserly for overpaying" crowd? Or is the reference to "you people" just thrown out there to the board in general, for anyone who has ever criticized Casserly for anything regardless of who said it?
Everyone knows I'm not a Casserly fan but for some reason I feel that I'm being lumped into the pile-on above since I guess I damn him if he does or doesn't. If you read my posts, you will know that's BS. I will criticize what I think is an overpay (like Weaver), but I will concur with what I think are good signings (like Walter).
What I'm asking of the 'pile on defenders of the Texans trust' is to look at what individual posters post on multiple issues, and not lump one Casserly critic (for whatever reason) who comes out of the woodwork with the rest of "you people." Otherwise it makes your criticisms just as broad and off-base as those you intend to criticize.

Well said Marcus. Sometimes those who shout the loudest about being aMarcus said:There is a 'very substantial' group of posters on this board who are still unable to get over it that CC is still the GM. That's just a plain fact. And therefore, they can expect to get lumped into the "damned if he does, damned if doesn't" group. And if you get lumped into that one, then you're also going to get lumped into the "don't mind him, he's just another hater" pile.
So, for 'you people' who are getting sensitive about whether or not your criticisms of CC are bring viewed objectively, just take a look back at much you do criticize CC, and how much you praise him, and look at the percentages, and you'll see why some might put you into a 'group'.
aj, if you'll remember, your avatar used to have CC's picture with a gunsight on it. (I even made it my avatar at one point)
We have to, "Fire (somebody)!!!"

aj. said:CC got praise from me for Walters. He will get praise for Putz if he lands him. He also got praise from me in last year's draft for Mathis and Morency. He got praise the year before for the Dunta pick which wasn't a totally done deal before it happened. I'm sure he got praise from me for drafting Domanick Davis.
He got harsh criticism from me for Walker, Wade, Riley and Babin (which earned him the satirical gunsight and now the satirical straightjacket and muzzle) and a few others. He got moderate criticism from me on what I think was an overpay on Weaver. Yes, I'm aware of Ferens and the coaches role.
Lump me in any group you want or call me a hater since it bothers me not. Just trying to point out the inaccuracy in generalizations that sometimes fly around here - just like if you say anything bad about Carr, all of a sudden you're a Carr hater. As far as I'm concerned, CC has earned more criticism than he deserves respect over the past four years. So shoot me. I'm not in the trust everything Texans camp and never have been. I spend too much emotion, not to mention $$$ on this passion of mine to keep my mouth shut on things that I hold a strong opinion. CC's not a good GM and I would be very surprised and unhappy if he's here next year.

So like I said, the dammed if you do - dammed if you don't stuff really doesn't fit but lump me in any group you want or call me a hater or whatever - because I really don't care. I was simply trying to point out the inaccuracy in generalizations that sometimes fly around here - just like if you say anything bad about Carr, all of a sudden you're a Carr hater, or if you say you like Vince better than David - that must mean you have orange blood.
