Already putting the CD together huh. I know man, long off season.

Has anyone else grown tired of the song? I've never really been a huge fan of it. Of course, it blows away that dumb fight song that the NFL Films music guy wrote for us last year.

I'm not a big fan of it, but I suppose it's better than the Frostie the Snowman 'fight song' last year and helluva' lot better than the old Oilers fight song.

I'd prefer something more....driving, heavier, a song that invokes football instead of backyard BBQs. But I'm just a metalhead, so what do I know. We can't even get a decent rock station in Houston, so obviously the demographics of the town are nowhere near my tastes in music.

Alas, the days of Cardi's, Rockers (then Thunders), Backstage, etc. are long gone.

Someone else was just whining about that song. Y'all really should find a way to hear that "Riot" one at least once. I wish I knew how to put it here.

The Clay Walker song sounds like a tune from a 2-14 team to me. No 'nads. A kinda goat roper anthem of sorts.

Thanks to whoever posted the link to the Clay Walker song. I sent it in an e-mail to every non-Texans fan I know and told them it was the latest tune from Van Halen that will soon be released. Told them it starts out slow but really kicks in later.

I wonder how many were stoopid enough to listen to the whole thing?

What amazes me is that they use metal to intro the players, for kickoffs, for getting the crowd into the game during tv timouts and change of possessions, but when we score a TD, we get a laid back boot stomper song that just reinforces the stereotype of Houston.

I don't hate the Clay Walker song, and I dig the story behind it. But not as a FIGHT SONG. It's just way too mellow, IMO, and sounds more like a Chevy truck commercial than anything related to the rather brutal game of football.

I say edit "La Grange" to start at "haw haw haw", then kick into the main riff of it. ZZ Top is about as Houston as you can get (of course, nevermind the irony of using a song about a chicken house for a squeaky clean franchise like the Texans...)

Amen. I can only improve on the ZZ Top song, never did like the hometown boys, they enhance that stereotype as well, IMHO.

EDIT: Didn't mean to sound so absolute. ZZ is a major step up from Clay's song. All due respect to Clay and the genre.

Really?! I don't get that same stereotype of Houston (the way I think DB was talking) - about with ZZ. JMO though..

Clay Walker - yes. I get that.

It's kind of strange in this patricular case you could see it both ways in that they have shown the country we don't all ride horses and play our geetar at the Dairy Queen parting lot to the date we are trying to impress with a HungerBuster. But then you look at the pics and you think "smokey mountain moonshine" or whatever.

I do like some ZZ. 'I Need You Tonight' is pure chills.

I hear ya...... I just get more of blues feel when I look at 'em.

What does it tell you when Jimi Hendrix once said:

Jimi is quoted (in the book "The Jimi Hendrix Experience" as calling The Moving Sidewalks the "best garage band in America" and Billy Gibbons his "favorite guitarist."

Okay, I know alot of people don't like rap but I've received some real good feedback how people actually like my rap song I made for The Texans. I had a defensive mentality when I made this song, both footballwise and fanwise (always defending my team) so I put metal guitars in the back ground, along with the symphonic sound as a way to update the old NFL Films stuff, and of course rap lyrics which is the music I love most.

Check it out. Track 2 ...I'm A Texan....El Tejano

I never knew those tracks were there. Yours was good, vato.

"Texans Song Rejected By The Fans" was a joke right?

Can we just make Thunderstruck our fight song? I love that song and anytime I hear it I think of the opening kickoff. Great song, especially the opening!

Thanks for posting OUR Texans Fight Song.
You know, it's finally grown on me, I've embraced it and it DOES get my blood going!!!
And, the idea of having the team come in to the opening riffs of "La Grange", no vocals is a kick butt idea!!!!!!

GO TEXANS!!!
