Fool's Gold (Bush)

1st lets stop comparing Bush to MJ. In B-Ball you play O and D. You can make a difference on both sides of the ball. Bush will only be playing O. When he makes a spectacular TD. He still has to come to the sidelines and watch just like a fan crossing his fingers hoping the D makes a stop! Remember when the O makes a Turn Over they give the ball to the other team. When the D makes a Turn Over they give the ball to the Offense. Texans D Line needs help bad! More than they need a RB. Lets be honest how many times did the QB have all day to throw? What other D-Lineman has the upside that Williams has in this draft? Bush is only good as the O-line. Just look at the PATS they drafted 3 D-Linemen with their 1st round picks 2001-2004. Daniel Graham TE being the other 1st rounder. How will Bush be different than OJ, Ricky Bell, Billy Sims, George Rogers, Bo Jackson all former #1 picks? Also notice neither of these RB’s won a SB.
Lets face it Football Games are won in the trenches!

"Certainly he isn't a dominating defender yet, not when he had sacks in just 16 of his 36 appearances for the Wolfpack.

Ten of his 14½ sacks in 2005 came in just three games and against lesser opponents. Half of his six sacks in 2004 came in one outing, although, granted, the opponent was Florida State."

How exactly does these kind of stats make Williams as dominating as everyone here suggests. Certainly I see he has potential but I don't see him having as great as impact on the DLine as everyone here is suggesting.

Super Mario averaged 10 yards a carry as a RB in highschool. We will probably play him both ways IMHO..........

if we drafted bush 1. He would have become the highest paid RB in the league before ever taking a snap. THat is not a smart move especially when you split time.

You aren't thinking about the indirect impact Bush will have.
Bush may only touch the ball 15-20 times, but he occupies defenders, keeps the O on the field longer w/ better field position (which helps the D) and will give us a much needed PR over Pbuc

A DE can only do and effect so much.

That all sounds good. But Bush has to depend on having a good O-Line to make that happen. A DE doesn't have to depend on anyone. Just attack the ball. Good DE's are harder to get then Good RB's Also Field Position means nothing if you have no pass rush.
