Firearm charges against Marcus Vick dropped

Former Virginia Tech quarterback Marcus Vick has resolved his recent legal problems, pleading guilty to disorderly conduct charges in one court and speeding and driving without a valid driver's license in another. As part of his guilty plea of disorderly conduct, prosecutors dropped three counts of brandishing a firearm against Vick.

In January, three days after being kicked off the Virginia Tech team, Vick was charged with pulling a gun on three teenagers during an altercation in a McDonald's parking lot.

Prosecutors said Monday that "seriously conflicting evidence" on the gun charges led to the plea deal.

Vick was sentenced to six months in jail and a $500 fine. However, his jail time was suspended on condition of good behavior for one year.

So now that this is dropped, do you think his draft status will rise any?

in my opinion it may move him from 5th round-FA to 4th - 7th Round.. He's been a problem child all thru college and with the whole elvis dumervil situation i think that was truly the nail in the coffin for a lotta NFL GMs.. JMO:twocents:

agreed ... although there is no conscience in the NFL (see maurice clarett going in the 3rd), i dont think many are going to look over that significant of a list of problems ... the most standout being his firearms charges, dropped or not, and his actions on the field with dumervil. he wont be a first day, but having some of the charges dropped might move him up to an earlier second day choice.

He is not part of VT, so he won't have a pro day. But if he has a private work out who will want to go?

When you have the blood line that he has and the talent that he has shown, teams will show up.

But when you've has many problems as he's had and for as many years as he's had.. People might show up, but they wont be calling your name on day 1..

He's going to Atlanta. The falcons are going to try and trade Matt Schaub(sp?).

I can honestly see that happening. What better way to have a back up to Mike Vick than to have someone who can play closer to that style.

Mike will also make sure that marcus sits on his hands whenever he gets an itch.:spy:

Who cares. This guy is a looser with his head up his rear. If I were an NFL Scout I wouldn't give him the time of day. I would wait until he put in a few years in Canada and let him learn some responsibility and leadership, then MAYBE give him a chance.
