I've been wanting BO'b fired for 5 years now, ain't got me nowhere. & BO'b is just climbing the corporate ladder.

So I'm going to do things different. I'm going to hope he signs a new extension & take on the position of VP of football operations as well.

Why not just give him full ownership of the team as well??

Fire Bill O’Brien
TBH, even though I had fully jumped off the O’Brien bandwagon after the “not my job” comment (this was less than a month after the Texans were embarrassed at home by the Giants - that game was really the one that had me questioning BoB’s competency as a game planner and HC), the guys on 610 nearly had me convinced he had turned a corner. They said during TC he seemed happier and more mellow. He was becoming more candid with the media and more easy going, they said.

I wasn’t sold, though. If those cameras weren’t in front of his face when that potential trade with the Lions blew up I’m guessing his laptop didn’t stand a chance. The guy can’t control his temper. And I’m guessing this is the year we see a full-blown shouting match on the sidelines between him and one the players or coaches. Last year it was a fan that got the better of him, this year who’s it going to be? Should be a Vegas prop bet.

Why is this such a big deal?

I've seen Landry blow-up at Staubach many times. Parcells blew up at his coaches/Simms etc.. We won't even talk about Ditka.

This happens all the time in the NFL. Difference today is cell cameras.

I have no problem with it.

Society has changed. The world has changed. Toxic Masculinity is a thing now apparently. Men can no longer be the men of yesterday. Rough edges and Alpha personalities are under attack and the populace want's you to believe that in order to be civilized a man must be soft spoken and easy mannered.

Edit: The above probably won't be a popular opinion so if it rubs some the wrong way....sorry, but not sorry.

I do think there are differences there though - I'm older, and my family business was construction until I chose an IT path so early parts of my life were around a segment of society thought to have rough edges and toxic masculinity in abundance.

I don't think you need either of those things to be an Alpha and leader of men - blowing up at every little thing, personal grudges, more curse words in a sentence than other words (I cuss way too much so don't anyone take this as "pointing fingers") are just not necessary. If you have to shout to be heard/get your point across you are just a piss poor communicator.

In short, firm believer in the world-changing as we should always be looking/trying to improve ourselves - but don't believe that manly men have to go away - we just don't need to be a**holes about it.

Toxic masculinity is what the snowflakes are calling men with strong personalities these days?

the issue nowadays is there are too many men who go around with their chest puffed out, arms bowed hoping someone runs into them. Those same men watch a woman or elderly person being attacked or abused and they sit idly by or if they get their attitude adjusted or have a tougher guy call them to task - then they become a victim. What plagues this country is not a lack of 'tough guys' .. its an abundance of FAKE tough guys. Toxic masculinity is definitely a thing, and has always been, but the "be a man" society made guys bottle up all the bullying and abuse they faced and allowed them to manifest it onto others that they perceived as 'weaker or inferior' .. its a brutal revolving door and its a great sign of progress when a 'mans - man' doesnt have to go around pretending to be the toughest guy in the room and bragging about his conquests or status symbols to feel vindicated.

Having Bill OBrien cuss out a fan in the stands doesnt represent some kind of positive influence on younger people does it? Neither is him getting into a yelling match with Brady on the sidelines. Coaches punching each other in the face on the sidelines??? Overblown tempers - sure, but dismissing a barbaric assault as things that mildly happen among men is where problems arise. Only time violence should be tolerated is in one's own self defense, most other times its just a sign of insecurity.

You're a cool dude - im just expanding on your thought and my opinions are not isolating your take or looking for trouble! LOL

You are comparing Super Bowl winning coaches to Bill O'Brien, winner of division "championships".

One is not like the others.

Obrien has how many years under his belt now? I expect to see more of the same.
The difference in opinions are

1. Talent level was low and no amount of coaching can help this. Vs he didn't Coach them up. I think the truth lies somewhere in between.

2. Same with the BoB's fault that DW4'S regressed vs anything that good happened because of DW4's great crowd. The truth lies somewhere in between.

There is the potential for this to the best receiving core in team history overall outside of single players like A.J. and Hopkins.

this has rapidly ascended my OBrienism Cringe Meter: https://www.nfl.com/news/bill-o-brien-explains-thinking-behind-fg-call-fake-punt-0ap3000001096290

"I felt like I had a first down there and when I didn't, I just felt like we didn't have a great play there for the fourth down at that point and time," O'Brien explained afterward, also adding he'd considered challenging the spot of the ball. "So, I felt like it was better to kick the three but that's a very fair question. I felt like it was just better to kick the field goal there."
yuck. everytime i read it I throw up in my mouth a little bit.

Every time you post I throw up in my mouth a little. Player lover over team lover.

BTW, How are those Cards MB's?
Figures you would give me an unlike. Taking up for your boy.

Guess what, unlike as many posts as you like. I like to keep you busy, speaking of likes and unlikes.

Wrong.

I didn't assume anything, that's why I asked the damn question that you still haven't answered.
This..
Why do you have a problem with this?
..is painfully obviously not a question of whether or not I have a problem with the subject. Because that's not how words work.

It is a clear assumption of some problem that I never expressed, and is then actually a question of why the assumed problem is there.

I think MW made a list of famous BOB quotes as that was the fun we were having, the third being BOB blowing up at a fan. MW just posted the quotes, I think SB thought these were quotes you had some kind of issue and started assuming MW had an issue with BOB bowing up. We need training camp.... This is all getting tired. Maybe someone can hijack and post a Zoom call for the offensive meetings
