FINAL 7rd. MOCK FOR TEXANS.

DRIFTAWAY

Rookie
#13- Throw much bluff about trading CC stays put and grabs Demarcus Ware.

#47- O-line need is severe for us but with Baas off the board CC will go with an eventual replacement for glenn, Corey Webster, CB, LSU

#73- Texans need powerful smashmouth runner and CC finds in ideal fit in Eric Shelton, HB, Louisville

#78- O-line help is very much needed now and Texans select Ben Wilkerson, C, LSU

#114- WR is still a pressing issue for the Texans, and find a solid prospect in Fred Gibson, Wr, Georgia

#151- Texans aren't done with the o-line and need a T, Rob Petitte, OT, Pittsburgh

#188- LB might turn out to be a downfall for the texans this yr, so for depth and insurance, CC go's with Boomer Grigsby, LB,Illinios St.

#206- Texans havent taken anyone for the D-line yet, so they take someone i heard is a wide body DT and strong work ethic. Texans select Lorenzo Alexander,DT, California

#227- CC sticks with his traditional project QB, Walter Washington, QB, Temple

i really would like this to come true, the order and talent of your picks are what i would call 'ideal'...except for a few :heh:

i haven't done any research (yet) on browner so i can't comment on how justified the pick is. instead of pettite at #151, i'd rather take a T/G 'tweener or a TE. and the last critique i have is chris rix. i have a buddy whose room is painted garnet and gold (aka biggest FSU fan i've ever been around) so i've watched a few FSU games in my day. although rix shows flashes of brilliance, after watching enough of him (and rooting for him to piss my buddy off), i've come to the conclusion he is most likely a 'cursed' athlete (perfect example: chris webber). he has all the tools to succeed but is always so close, yet so far away. to make a long story short, i'm much more intrigued on taking a chance on walter washington (raw/unrefined, from temple) in the 7th and seeing what palmer could mold him into.

overall, great mock though:thumbup

The only pick I really don't like is Browner...I know he has good size, but a CB that runs a 4.6 isn't the type of player I'd take in the second round as Glenn's future replacement...

this to be an ideal mock

just like an nfl war room, it took a couple of heads together to tweak it to perfection! me likey this mock :thumbup . wish we could get the great CC's opinion...but then again i don't like being wrong... :heh:

Hollings isnt really the type of back we are looking for anymore, and if it came down to DD being hurt, J-Wells i wouldnt trust starting. Itd be nice to have Shelton.

curious how come you have a DL at the bottom of your draft and not the top?

#73- Eric Shelton, HB, Louisville - WASTED PICK!

Thats a NT or OG right there. HB? DD and Hollings? Everything else is good.

DD and Hollings are both injury prone and Shelton would give us a power back that wouldn't be scared to hit the hole like Wells is...
