Ferentz Pulls His Name Out of Consideration

That's too bad. I think Texans fans would have really liked him as a HC. You would never have worry again about not enough attention paid to the offensive line with Farentz.

But I understand he's really happy at Iowa. Probably tickles him pink every year to have so many NFL teams interested in him, and then turn them all down.

I heard something about it being because of his son going into his senior season.

On the opposite side of things I pretty much am glad he didn't come out to muddy the waters. I think the guy enjoys the hype and was holding people hostage on his own time instead of making it known his intentions. I'm sure a team he was interested in already made their selection. I just don't like guys who try to hold out on the process if they aren't really into it.

I'm not that impressed with Farentz. The only college coache I would want would be Pat Hill. Is there bias there, yeah, but I don't see a lot of college coaches that have the tenasity to handle the NFL.

actually, his son just graduated this past year (or at least his football eligibility is expired). the reason he actually entertained offers this year was because his son is now done, where in years past, he did not beacuse he wanted to watch his son play ball. he had 2 great recruiting classes the last 2 years and i think he wants to see what they can do in the next 2 years.

Edit: oops, just read the article, i didn't realize the son in question was in high school, i thought it was in regards to his son who was a senior at iowa.
