Bill Williamson, of the Denver Post, reports free agent DT Ellis Johnson (Broncos) visited with the Houston Texans Monday, April 11.

Hasn't been a starter since 01, isn't that big at 280lbs. 31 years old. Not to sure what he's doing here, maybe a little Payne insurance, although its a very very small policy.

He started a few times in 03 for the Falcons...His stats are pretty good for a situational player...He would most likely be a back-up for Walker and the 'Baire...If he comes cheap, then sobeit...

I'm not sure if it was as a NT, but yeah he had 8 sacks in 2003 and 3 sacks off the bench last year in Denver...I thought Jasper played NT for Atlanta when they used the 3-4, but I could be wrong...

hmmm if he is going to be a piece of bubble gum in a leak, he better come at the league minimum.

I just dont feel he is the free agent signing that Robaire was last year. But ill take him for cheap see if he can make it through camp.

We are looking at the next level FA now. I would not be surprised to see us sign a couple of vets. They would mainly compete for depth.

Yea Im all for increasing the body count at DL for this offseason. Unfortunately Trevor Pryce didnt ask for his release which a lot of teams including denver were gearing up for.

Maybe we were goin to go after pryce if he was released.

We may have intended to go after Pryce, but we'll never know...All we can do is idly speculate about that...

I think if Johnson is still the player he has shown to be through his career, he would probably beat out either Sears or Ioane for a back-up spot on our D-Line...

Yeah, I like Ioane too. His tackle of Priest Holmes at the 1 yard line is what triggered our win against the Chiefs this year.

I am all for adding depth to the D line as long as the price is right... :thumbup

This is the kind of signing often worth making--an at or near league minimum deal to revive a 1st round guy for depth if nothing else. This is where the motivation/talent of a coaching staff stands out--making an underachiever perform rather than watching a star perform.
