Okay, here I go. Long way away from the 2006 draft but this draft is loaded with talent, especially at the positions the Texans could use an upgrade. I like Reggis Bush, like the big guy from Bastan Callage, Mathias Kiwanuka, Roderick Wright and of course D'Brickshaw Ferguson. But here me out on this...here me out. DD, ehhhh he is a good back but no game breaker not a premier back. Ship DD out, try to get a decent pick for him and use that pick to address a OT, possibly in the second round and with our first pick draft Reggie Bush. If DD has a good season, another 1,000 yd season. I'd like to see Reggie Bush in the backfield. Upgrade the pass protection and blitz pick up! DD seems to struggle in that dept. Thoughts!

I would like to keep DD since the Texans locked him up for the next 4-5 years as a much needed offensive weapon & for depth purposes, but I would suppose if you got the right offer from a team like the Colts (who may win it all this year & would like to keep it going) with Manning would surely be able to justify integrating him into the offensive scheme and cough up their late 1st rd pick.
This is a highly unlikely scenereo but I like the Texans to draft one of the elite RB's first rd. then come back with the best possible Center to replace McKinney. then the Texans could start pounding people & running the ball more effectivly which would take all that pressure off Carr.
I'm not so sure that Bush is that pound the ball kinda guy, an offensive weapon for sure but a compliment to DD in the running game. therefore I'd be more inclined to go RB Laurence Maroney & C Greg Eslinger with the Texans #1 & #2 picks in 2006

Junior running back Laurence Maroney was named co-Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week after setting career highs with 46 attempts and 217 rushing yards in their thrilling double-overtime victory over Purdue Saturday.
With Laurence Maroney facing the nation's top rushing defense, he carried the Golden Gophers to a Big Ten-opening victory over nationally ranked Purdue by setting career highs with 46 attempts and 217 rushing yards to pick up a share of Offensive Player of the Week accolades.
The junior running back also set personal bests with five receptions and 59 receiving yards and added 57 yards on two kickoff returns for 333 all-purpose yards in the game. His 46 carries rank second on Minnesota 's single-game rushing list behind Big Ten record holder Kent Kitzmann, who toted the ball 57 times against Illinois in 1977.
The Boilermakers entered the game allowing only 16 rushing yards per contest, but Maroney surpassed the 100-yard mark in the first half for the fourth time this season and broke the 200-yard barrier for the second time on the year. The St. Louis native leads the country with 174.5 rushing yards and 220.8 all-purpose yards per game. He picks up his second career weekly laurel and first since his freshman season on Nov. 10, 2003.

You don't receive much value for RB with big contracts. Teams have been trying to trade these type players over the last few years with little success. Davis is likely going to be our RB for the next few years unless we cut him.
Hey Beerlover, i see what your saying and yes McKinney is not the great center people think him to be and no longer is he the best lineman on the team. But we can't ignore our failed attempts to field a LT to keep David Carr off the turf or running for his life. Victor Riley seems to be doing a good job and aside from McKinney there is no one I would like to see replaced but to lock up a franchise LT for David Carr would be clutch. Maybe Casserly will trade all our picks for the #1 overall to draft a guy that might be there in rnd.2...Uhemmmm (jason Babin) DD is locked up for the next few seasons so maybe Bush is not the answer unless we use more as a WR...oppsoite Andre Johnson, I think that would create match up problems. Here is another draft scenario, say the Texans play ****ty and recieves a top 5 pick, do we trade it for multiple picks. Reggie Bush is such a threat, hard to look past him ya know.
Very true Beerlover, I feel the season will turn around as well but you can't blame me for thinking about how early of a draft pick we will receive after the less than stellar start to our season! I look for the offense to look tons better this week, bring in the Titans...bring in a WIN!
