Don't need Quarterback now, got Fitzpatrick

With lots and lots of NFL experience! Been on 5 different NFL teams. Rams, Bengals, Bills, Titans and now Texans. My only real concern is why so many different teams? Does anyone know the answer to this??

Do your homework. Fitz is a placeholder for whoever they draft until the rookie is ready to start.

Any particular reason you have such a hard on for Fitzpatrick?

Nobody is looking for him to be the FQB. The Texans have him here to mentor the FQB we draft this year and to start the season as the veteran QB.

Surely you don't think the Texans are going to throw a rookie out therelike they did David Carr, do you?

Don't feed the troll. :smiliepalm:

I think he's one of those Manzealots we keep hearing about. And he knows his fear is going to be realized when the Texans pass on his boy.

I am not sure you guys are reading the new guy correctly. Yes his first thread indicated he was a Manziel fan but this seems to be saying Fitz could start and we do not need QB drafted high this year. Let's not call him or her a troll until we know more. Also OP could just not be as well versed as all of you.
Perhaps he will will reveal more....

Ok I see. So the Texans are going to select a quarterback in the draft but their going to wait till the later rounds after all the good ones have already been picked over and just see who is available at that time. I got it now.

Look at those places...

St Louis
Cincinnati
Buffalo
Possum Holler

Fitz's IQ is too high to stay in those places. Moving on up...

...but their[sic] going to wait till the later rounds after all the bad ones have already been picked...

He started one over in TT, also. Right after commenting on it in the Fitz visits thread. That's the only reason I posted what I did.

I think he was being sarcastic and saying we really don't have a starting QB right now. Funny thing is, we all know that, but Fitz will probably start this year. We'll likely have Manziel, Bortles, Bridgewater, or Carr sitting on the sidelines. I say we gotta keep Keenum around, even though he's not our plan for the future, and cut Yates.

No great QBs have ever been picked past the first round in NFL history?

There are quite a few very good to good prospects in this draft at QB but not one "can't miss" prospect.

Since there's not much seperation between the QB's as prospects, why not take one 2.1, 3.1 or, my favorite, trade down and get more picks.

Right now, not one human on this planet knows how any of these prospects (in the entire draft) are going to pan out. The way I see it is a reach or a gem is based soley on draft position until the player proves himself in the NFL, one way or another. Savage would be considered a reach at 1.1. With hindsight, Tom Brady is a no-brainer diamond that got over-looked. If you could go back in time, it would also be a no-brainer to take Brady at 1.1

Just my :twocents:

No, Tom Brady did not have enough star power coming out of college and I would not take take him in the first round. :rake:

You're right...gotta have star power. What was I thinking?

I can't wait for Thursday night to get here.:koolaid:

Don't confuse popular with pro prospect . :fingergun:
