Do you like the pick or not??

Do you think Picking Mario with the #1 overall was the right thing to do??

Same could be said about defense. Which #1 defensive player in college ever won the superbowl? People like to post questions about running back and offensive #1 picks but fail to analyse the same view on defense, but I guess it's because it wouldn't help to make "their" point.

My point, is that a lot of fans are "boo-hoo, we passed on Reggie Bush" as if that means we won't be able to score, or win games....... We've got as much talent offensively, if not more than anyone in the league.

I'm thrilled, I can't wait to see what DD can do on a good all 'round football team. in 2004, DD had 1776 total yards..... 1188 in rushing, and 588 recieving.. He isn't flashy, he isn't going to break your ankles..... he's all blue collar, he's going to work for his....... he's a dual threat. I think he'll get 2000 total yards from scrimmage.

We are going to do well..........

without Reggie Bush.

And to add to this list, how many of the big high powered Offenses have won a super bowl in the last ten years? Not many. Superbowl champs are either really balanced or have stifling defenses. The Colts, Cheifs, and Bengals have done next to nothing in the playoffs with their potent offenses. To win a championship, you need a strong defense, not a lightning strike offense.:twocents:

#1 Offense in the NFL has won the same amount of Superbowls as the #1 Defense, in the past 10 years.

#1 Offense winning Super Bowl
1999 STL
1997 Den

#1 Defense winning Super Bowl
2002 TB (playing against the #1 off Oak)
1996 GB

Generalizing that defense wins superbowls and basing your argument on that statement alone doesn't tell the entire truth.

That's fine, but I think that we could agree that "IF" we had picked Bush, that doesn't me we couldn't address the defense in later rounds. We did switch our defense to a 4-3, we brought in Weaver, Cowart, Kalu, Pettaway. We got Ryans in the second and could have drafted a safety or corner in the fourth round.

I'm not anti-Mario but people on both sides just generalize staments and post them as facts, instead of looking at things with an unbiazed approach.
