Do you agree with today's Lopez column?

Well if Dom's "Winning Formula", as he calls it, doesn't work this season then we will see change.

I want to see the Texans run over teams, but wantin' ain't gettin'. So, if they can find a way to open up more running lanes for Double D then great. It would help them control the clock and open the passing game up. The problem is it looks good on paper, but the Texans, if that is what they want to do and I am sure that is exactly what Dom wants to do, have not found a way to put it into action. And a plan is only good if you can execute it.

This is so misleading, comparing our philosophy to the Steeler's. Not only do they have a better OLine to block with, they also have a stout defense, so they can afford to run the ball 30+ times. When your constantly playing catch up, you can't.

Here's the deal ....

Everyone knows Capers wants to run the ball 2/3rd of the time .... How do you stop the run ? You put 8-9 in the box ....No 5 man front is going to block 8-9 defenders period , its just NOT going to happen.

For them to open some holes in the running game They Have to make the defense PAY for putting 8-9 in the box .... How do you do that ? You throw the damn ball .... Make a few big plays then the defense cant afford to continue to get beat for big gains so they back off ... Now you can run the ball effectively ....Works the opposite way too .... they drop 7 into coverage ... You RUN the ball then when they move up to stop the run .... You use PLAY ACTION !

Capers needs to take a look at his personel and work to their strengths ... DD is MUCH more effective in the open field as is AJ . Thats about all they have as far as play-makers . Put them in situations where they can excell .... thats your job Mr.Capers .

Beat that blitz a few times and I guarantee they back off the line of scrimmage .... You just have to PROVE that you can do it .... Otherwise we will see the same defensive scheme's all season long .

Misleading? Nope.

You have to have that philosophy to be a winner. True . . in order to execute that philosophy, you need to have a good O-line, and a stout defense. If you don't have those, you won't win, no matter what 'catch up' gimmick you might pull.

Until you have those two fundamental basic things . . . you're screwed. It doesn't matter what plays you call, or how many steps you drop. If you don't have the foundation, you won't win.

You need pass protection to do that, don't you? Just thought I'd ask.

You want to run. Fine. I disagree. I think a sound passing front can open up a run front, and it is the double threat that tears defenses apart. IF we go this way, IF this is the way of the Texans, then we should not have been "wasting" picks and trades on defensive positions. We should have put our money into undeniably awesome top-tier running backs. Don't misunderstand me. I like Davis. I think he is a great runner, and he has the stats to prove it. But I don't think he is the guy to open up the game. (I hope I am proved wrong.) If we want a solid running game, we need two great running backs. I just don't think the offense has been built to play the game Capers says he wants to play. Please prove me wrong, coach. Please.

I read the Lopez column this morning. I don't have much time, so I will keep this simple. NO. Change just for changes sake? How about change because what you have tried for 3 plus years has led us to a big giant flaming mound of dog dung.
