Did any of us stop to wonder...

I know this is no consolation to what we saw on Sunday. I know what lies ahead doesn't look to bright either. What I am about to say doesn't erase our team's problems but...

Did anyone give thanks that they were even able to watch their favorite team play this Sunday. There are thousands of fans that didn't get their opportunity to watch their team due to the circumstances recently in our country. I know this problem is worse than any football game but honestly what made me happy was that I was even able to see my team even if I didn't enjoy it. I don't accept losing but this week I just felt like I shouldn't do to much complaining about it. Just thought I'd bring that up. Now I am ready to beat the Steelers any way we can.

You know what, that is a great point. I'm feeling better already. Here we are complaining about our horrible team and those in New orleans are simply trying to survive. Thanks for putting it into perspective. Go texans on Sunday!

I always try to keep that perspective regardless of what I'm doing (even before Katrina hit...the world is a sad place).

But it's good to bring it up and remind everyone to be thankful. :thumbup

As bad as the Texans are, it's much better than the alternatives... no professional team at all or the Oilers.
I actually enjoyed football better when we didn't have a team. I don't like wasting my money on bad products. Realistically, I think this team could be as inept as Tampa Bay was when they were the expansion team.

Well, we do have to be prepared for the long haul, regardless if a winning season comes sooner or later. It's what being a fanatic is all about, really.

What choice do we have? Support our team, or bandwagon another team. I'll take the home team every time, even during the rough times.

Can you imagine the elation of long time Tampa Bay fans after winning an NFL Championship after so many losing seasons?

That, my friends, is what it's all about. :thumbup

That is exactly what I'm saying. Sure I hate how we lossed, or any loss for that matter but being there is what makes us a fan.

very nice post. To think that the only thing you have to worry about this year is a losing football team is a relief after seeing what many other people are going threw

I find your post amazing! Of course ALL OF US are thankful we were able to watch football on Sunday! But with that said.....what in the world does is have to do with the subject at hand? As a fan should I just throw up my hands and say "oh well" when I think about how lousy the Texan's played against Buffalo? I watch football to relax and forget about the problems & issues of everyday life. Football is an three hour escape. Are we not allowed to do that? Believe me, the other twenty-one hours I spend hearing about and thinking about the other things so please, don't attempt to make me feel guilty for talking about or thinking about football!

I wasn't trying to make anyone feel guilty. Football is just that for me also, an escape. But as the game finished and I saw the Saint win that game I quickly thought about the thousands of other Americans that didn't get to see their team and it made me remember that I shouldn't get so mad over something like this. Bro, take a look at my # of posts here and then also take a look at the other rants I've thrown down over the last two weeks and you will see that I have made my complaints as well but I just thought I'd put a post on here with some perspective with all the negativity going on and perhaps shed some light on our gloomy situation with this team.

No one is making you spend a cent on the team, so it isn't really relevant. And since enough people do spend money on them, people can watch for free on TV without blackouts. :tv: Yes, this is a shot at you JVille :texflag:

Root for someone else then. Please! Real fans root for their team no matter what happens. Sure, we complain when things go bad. It's always for what we feel is in the best interest of the TEAM though. We want our team to win every game but that isn't going to happen most of the time. We cheer the wins and feel bad after a loss. We suffer through the losing seasons and ride high during the playoff runs. That's what being a fan is. If all you want to do is root for a winning team each season-wait for the playoffs, pick a team and hope they win everything. You'll have much better odds that way.
