Is it only me who thinks Ware is a reach at 13? They age old rule is draft BPA, not to fill holes.

Ware is one of the best pure pass rushers in this draft. Im not denying it. And in the 3-4 you need pass rushers. I know that. But getting him at 13 to fill a need like that seems like the wrong move.

If we trade down, and Ware is available, then I dont have a problem with that. But just getting him at 13, makes me feel like it was a reach. If we werent a 3-4 team with a need for an OLB pass rusher, then he would drop down late first round.

Agreed if he's there later I say grab him, Just not at 13 he does'nt justify thet pick. Their are many other players I would take before him at 13 assuming they are still on the board.

What is your take on this?

I understand your point and there is definitely risk involved, but not just him any pick for that matter. with the Texans off the CB market thats a solid prospect to another team & in a way keeps a solid class that much deeper. the OLB however are premium picks with all the teams converting and teams currently trying to fill out their own rosters with these tweener types the two most desired OLB prospects are going to go much higer than one might think. I'm of the belief that Cleveland should trade down and still take Merriman if not take him outright with the 3rd overall pick. that only leaves Demarcus Ware to survive or last another 10 picks. The 3-4 defense was played last year by five teams - New England, Pittsburgh, San Diego, Oakland and Houston. This year Miami, Cleveland, Minnesota and Dallas are converting to it. before Cleveland there is Miami, do they trade down? Minnesota, Dallas & San Diego.

personally I've listened to him talk and he seems to be a very bright, intelligent well mannered young man & would fit the Texans personality great. he also has really experienced alot of adversity and overcome it all to reach his goals and live his dream of playing in the NFL. on the field from the video I've seen he reminds me alot of Derrick Johnson as a playmaker and penetrator espcecially from the backside. he is just as fast as DJ but bigger, stronger and taller a 13th pick would not be a stretch in my humble opinion unless you believe he won't still be available which seems highly probable
