CODY HURT AT PRACTICE



We've confirmed that Ravens second-round draft pick, Dan Cody, was carted off of the practice field after suffering a knee injury in his first training camp practice with the team.



Per a league source, the team doesn't believe the injury will bring a very premature end to Cody's rookie season. The team anticipates that the injury is likely an MCL sprain or mild tear, but not an ACL injury. Tests will be done to determine his condition, including most likely an MRI.


Cody, we were told, was helped up by teammates after suffering the injury and couldn't put weight on the leg.



Cody is in the process of converting from defensive end to linebacker in the Ravens' new/old 4-3 system.

Dang I hate to see this crap happen, lets just hope for Cody's sake its only
a sprain and he's back in action real soon.

WESTMINSTER - Dan Cody has suffered between a second and third degree anterior cruciate sprain of his right knee, according to an MRI. He will be reevaluated during training camp and will likely have another MRI. It's unclear if he will require surgery. He has not torn his ACL, according to senior vice president of public relations Kevin Byrne. There is no immediate prognosis on how much time he will miss, but Cody is on crutches and it's safe to assume he won't be available during training camp or possibly for the season-opener against the Indianapolis Colts on Sept. 11
