Dak Prescott still in play for Texans?

Looks like a guy doing due diligence and/or information gathering (especially since he has multiple questions about how other teams are regarding him)

Agreed. The Texans will be watching Prescott for a while, just like they had been watching Bj Daniels & Brandon Weeden, in case our needs & his availability cross somewhere down the road.

We also need to have an idea of how other teams are going to address the draft. Part of that is knowing the players.

Until I see it fail, I'm continually interested in the idea of a two-point specialist.

Preston Pearson from the Cowboys (probably before your time) was about ideal for that. But generally why take it away from someone like Arian who had a nose for the end zone by ground or air? Never understood why folks wanted a 'goal line back' when he was in the team.

I'm not suggesting taking the ball clear out of a guy like Arian's hands. He would absolutely stay my priority option. Just the dual threat of a durable, mobile player like a Dak Prescott that close to the goal line is a chore for defenses. If the defense is loaded to stop the run Dak can take the snap and run wide or throw depending on the look, and it's not like he has to be Aaron Rodgers from that spot if making a throw is the play.

Bottom line, I agree with 'keep it simple stupid' from there ... just want to have as many tools in my box as I can for when the other team keys in on my simple.

And yes, my familiarity with Preston Pearson only goes as far as a name in a sea of. You got me there gramps.

I wouldn't be surprised. I think we should draft a QB. Best case Brock is legit and we end up trading an unknown rookie that been on the bench for 2 years. Worst case Brock is terrible for 2 years and we have this kid that's been putting in work and learning the system. I couldn't stand another Hoyer/Mallet fiasco.

Is that not Savage though? And I'm not stumping for Savage in particular, just that we have a developmental just in case.

For now it is but where will he be in 2 years? I could see a scenario where Savage impresses enough to be QB2 and some later round rookie become the IR QB.

Just my opinion, but we can cross that bridge next offseason. This one can be all hands on deck to surround the Brockweiler.

Here's a blurb on the Broncos still looking for a QB:

Tom Savage, Houston Texans:
Savage is a talented young quarterback, but he is behind Osweiler and Brandon Weeden on the depth chart. The former fourth-round pick could be available for a cheap draft choice.

Not saying this is or isn't going to happen. Just saying there are scenarios where it could very well happen. Maybe we roll into next year with Brock, Weeden, and a rookie QB.

How awful would it be if we sign Brock for all that money and he turns out to be average or not very good, while at the same time we trade Savage to the Broncos and he goes on to greatness. I might very well quit watching lol

So this just hit on BR a Texan Scout tried texting Dak for his agents #, and a secondary # he might be near during the draft along with other info. Unfortunately our scout was given the wrong # so he texted the wrong person, but what do yall think about this

They were talking about this on radio. They brought up this could be a very old text. The time and "today" is shown but that could mean anything. Could had happened before they got Brock.
