D.Davis Highly Ranked by ESPN!!!

Big78

Waterboy
In ESPN's fantasy football magazine, DD was ranked #10 out of all backs. This is for fantasy football remember, but still thats pretty dang good. In their mock fantasy draft, he was selected #11 overall, and that was in the first round. In their list of the top 200 fantasy players the order was:

1)L. Tomlinson
2)Shaun Alexander
3)P. Holmes
4)Edge. James
5)Deuce McAllister
6)W. McGahee
7)C. Portis
8)Jamal Lewis
9)Tiki Barber
10)D. Culpepper
AND... Wait for it...
11) DOMANICK DAVIS

To end this is a small little Blurb about DD from the ESPN's fantasy football magazine:

"As a pure runner and reciever, Davis has no peers. He has a devine first step, quickness and vision, plus the hands to maximize ample pass-catching opportunities. And though houston's line is nothing to boast about, it;s zone-blocking scheme matchs his strengths perfectly, allowing him to pick his hole and exploit cutback lanes. Plus he clearly has a nose for the end-zone. The overridine factor here is sheer opportunity: if he stays healthy, he'll get 20 or more touches per game, which will translate to first-round production."

He ranks high in fantasy football....but that is fantasy football.
but the pionts from FF come from on-field production, consistent production at that.

Carr has made DD the fantasy player he is, if Carr didn't always check down to him or if we had a complete starting TE he would not be the fantasy player he is. I for one can't wait for the day when DD isn't a top 10 fantasy rb at least not receiving wise.

Its almost like the 2003 season when LT was the best fantasy player because of his running and receiving, but the Chargers sucked, but last year when Gates exploded on the scene and he was gobbling up all LTs receptions the Chargers took off. Somewhere he have to find a TE :brickwall

I guess they forgot about Peytom Manning? :thumbdown I imagine 50+ td's wasn't enough to garner their attention. As for DD I got him #23 at the end of the 2nd last year. He drove me crazy the 1st half of the year and his injury nags are enough to keep me away from him basically forever. I felt very lucky in the 2nd half of the season. If he's on he's a top 5 fantasy back easy. High risk no doubt though.

On my Yahoo fantasy teams, they have the players pre ranked before your draft and they had Davis ranked as #2 fantasy RB in the NFL, but like Vinny said, it's fantasy football.

One of the problems with todays fans is that they think that fantasy production equates to field play. David Carr has been a miserable fantasy QB but a decent real QB over his first few years. The two just don't jive as much as you think.

Good mods don't post in the wrong forum pards, good luck on the mod thing though. I'll be pulling for ya.

Ah Ha. Now I know why some fans hate Carr. Cause they had him in FF and he sucked. My friend took Carr last year and finished dead last. Behind my wife who picked players souly on the fact they had cool sounding names not b/c she new who they where. Guys like Algi Crumpler and Edgerine James.

It was kinda funny cause she finished 3rd

Aaron Brooks is a pretty good fantasy QB, but I wouldn't want him as my team's QB for long. Fantasy numbers don't include intangibles.

I think Carr will be more productive very soon though. I even traded for him in one of my dynasty leagues as my QB2. Trent Green has been in an offense that wants to run the ball in the red zone as well, but he has risen to a pretty decent fantasy QB over the years. Carr's rise to fantasy football respectability will probably be like Green's. A few years ago you could get Green real late in most drafts. He goes off considerably higher now.
I traded Shuan Alexander for DD, and picked up Carr off of the waiver wire. I know, some people are going to say I'm crazy for trading Alexander for DD, but I just don't like him, and not to mention that he is still refusing to join the team.

Its a little crazy to give up Alexander for just DD. Should've asked for a TE or WR too. Maybe not an elite one, but just enough to make the deal a little sweeter.

What are the chances of Morency cutting much into DDs carries, even without being nicked up? Or just as relevant, Hollings? I think that should be the only concern with taking DD too high.
