Crabtree, Antonio Bryant or Braylon Edwards

Alright guys. I need some good advice. I want to add Moats to my fantasy team but cannot decide who to drop. At WR I have Bryant, Crabtree, and Edwards as "projects" (guys with a ton of upside and could be starters in a few weeks but haven't proven to be consistent this season) and my "solid" guys are Derrick Mason, Steve Smith (Giants version), and Nate Burleson.

At RB, I have Cedric Benson, Matt Forte, Steve Slaton, and Tim Hightower.

So out of my WRs and RBs, who would you drop for Moats? I am leaning towards dropping either Bryant or Edwards but can't decide who. Both guys have below average QBs (Sanchez is extremely inconsistent). So what do I do?

I think Crabtree will be the more consistent guy out of the three at this point. Edwards is so inconsistent and Bryant has been his entire career and hasn't been that healthy really. Crabtree is all that SF has at this point and he had 81 yards in his last game. He'll probably get a TD in his next game.

Thanks man. Rep to you for the advice. My thinking exactly. But between the two inconsistent guys, who would you drop? I have both Vernon Davis and John Carlson at TE but still am not totally sold on Davis so I don't think I should drop either of them. So between Edwards and Bryant, who would you drop?

I would probably drop Bryant.

I would keep Vernon Davis for sure. He is the only option in the passing game other than Crabtree and you have to play a TE. Keep Davis for sure. If you don't want him, then trade him at least and get some value for him. You'd be carazy to just let him go though.

I would drop Bryant over Edwards. Bryant had that one good season last year where he over achieved. He's been inconsistent his entire career and also a hot head from time to time. He's in a terrible offense right now on a team with no leadership that's going nowhere and won't get any better at this point really. Edwards is inconsistent as well, but they will force the ball to him. They traded for him so that he could be their go to guy and they will make him that guy for better or worse.

I would drop Bryant for sure.

But another thing to add is that with the RB's you have you probably don't "need" Moats. He would be good to add to any team for depth at this point, but make sure you're not picking him up just to pick him up. You've got plenty of good RB's and Moats will not be a consistent fantasy player most likely. He'll share carries with Slaton and Kubes will probably still stick with Brown on the GL for better or for worse. If Slaton fumbles again or remains ineffective in between the tackles and Moats continues to play well he might be a decent start, but I think you're other RB's would all start over Moats in any given week.

Exactly what I was thinking.

No way would I drop Davis. I was posting that because I was thinking of dropping Carlson. Seattle's offense has been pretty bad as of late and Burleson is the main target. But as I said, I am not sold enough on Davis (YET), to drop Carlson.

Exactly what I was thinking. You guys just confirmed it, so Bryant has been dropped. Hopefully no one ahead of me on the waiver wire goes after Moats.

Agree completely. But I think I am too heavy at WR after signing Crabtree and have too many "project" WRs. Slaton has been starting for me and has done well the last few weeks but you never know what will happen. Slaton could keep fumbling and lose his starting role and the way Moats looked he could do something this year. So I think for my team and for my depth, I am better off getting another RB and dropping a WR. Would you agree?

I would probably drop Bryant.

Agreed

Crabtree has been the most consistent and Braylon has more potential than bryant.

Aslo the Jets could be fighting for a playoff spot all season when the Bucs basically have no chance already.

I forgot that Slaton was one of your three top backs. You will need Moats for sure then.

Yeah, Slaton is going to be very risky at this point unless this last game gets him going again like it did the last time he was benched. If Moats continues to play well Kubes could end up making it a committee and that could ultimately become the smarter thing to do any way if Moats can keep getting nice gains. Slaton should still be in for some pretty big games this season, but if not Moats will be a good hand cuff to have if he gets more and more in the dog house.

Glad you guys confirmed my thinking. Bryant has had a few good games lately, but I think if I am starting anyone I am starting Steve Smith and a mixture of either Derrick Mason/Nate Burleson/Braylon Edwards/Michael Crabtree depending on matchups.

From what I have seen so far though, Crabtree shows real starting potential. I am really glad I picked him up.
