Could it be...

Could it be possible to finish 8-8. Looking at the two games left I think its a good chance of that happening. What do you guys think?

I think only if our O-Line can step up next week against JAX there front 7 is full of beasts. They are like a wild pack of jaguars that prey on QB's. The cleveland game should be a gimme. Especially since we face them in Reliant. But the Jags D is very nice maybe we'll get lucky and catch a few injuries while they are playing the Packers right now LoL (Wishful thinking)

Well we just played a pretty banged up Chicago team, so I am not going to go all out and say they can dominate anybody. 6 wins is great for the progress of this team but putting pressure on them to win 8 is something different. They played good on both sides of the ball considering the elements but he still have to battle that one big monster....consistancy.

The Texans could as easily implode as explode next week in Jacksonville. It could go either way so I'm not going to worry about it until it gets here. For now the official party line at my house is "The Texans are going to finish 8-8 until the numbers say it's just not possible".

If course that's me every week and I understand it's not realistic. I go into every Texans game thinking "Win".

That would be good going into the offseason.
Before I say this, I want you guys to know that I want this team to win as much of the next guy but saying that, wouldnt it acually be bad if we finish 8-8??? If we finish 8-8, we can be picking as low a 19th (right now, we are around 14th) in a very weak draft class. That means you will be missing out on guys like Marcus Spears and Rodrique Wright for the defensive line or a stud LT that you guys want so badly or a stud RB like Ronnie Brown. Does 2 wins mean so much that you are willing to lose out on impact players that will help this team become a playoff contender next year and years to become???

yes, losing on purpose to position yourself for a good draft pick is ridiculous. And plus if we do take the next to who's to say we need those draft picks anyway. Even though one of them is the horrible cleveland browns

You could still get a strong, decent players at 19th spot, of course the draft is a little weak this year but we can still be a playoff team next year evren at that spot. I think 8-8 would boost the morale of the team and give them even more hope going into next year.

I'll take wins over draft position every time. A winning attitude surrounding the team is much more important than that "certain player" people fall in love with every year.

Have yall seen how bad our pass rush is??? With Spears on the line with Smith, Walker, and Payne, the Texans will have a nice 4 man rotation on a 3 man line so the players can stay fresh.

Have yall seen Wand get blown up by blockers each week??? Why not get Alex Barron to fortify the LT spot on the line???

Why not get a stud LB to pair with Sharper???

Why not get a stud RB that can run over the smaller guys, run past the bigger guys and can catch like a pro WR when you line him up wide???

This team has a lot of holes, 5 draft slots could mean the difference between a future superstar and a solid player...

Ok now i was just trying to make a point LoL. Ofcourse we could use any of those guys at any of those positions would be wonderful. I'm not saying we should go throw all our draft picks in the dumpster.

Fiddy, I understand your point, but I think having the team win and gain confidence is more important. Our players need to learn how to win and put games away more than we need a high draft pick.

The season isn't over yet. It's too early to say how good this team is, albeit only a little too early. I'd rather find out that this team is somewhat better and not get the draft picks than find out it's really that bad and get the picks. You always want to win. Of course, they could be good (relatively speaking) and go out and lose on purpose, but that is just wrong--and they'd never do it, anyway. I want them to go 8-8, but I'm not counting on it in Jax.
