SAN ANTONIO - The displaced Saints will be returning to New Orleans for the 2006 season, NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue and team owner Tom Benson said Friday.
Tagliabue addressed players, coaches and staff members at their temporary training facility in downtown San Antonio where the team moved its base of operations to in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.
Tagliabue said the team would train and play its eight regular-season home games in Louisiana, at the Superdome and Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge. The Superdome is undergoing repairs and should be football-ready by mid-September.
