Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe reports that Jacksonville & Indianapolis are in contention for former Patriot Pro Bowl CB Ty Law.
Ty Law's agent, Carl Poston, said Law is not only running but is starting to make cuts and inching closer to being 100 percent as he recovers from foot surgery. Poston heard Friday from Jacksonville, which is in need of a cornerback and has cap room. He said the Jets, Colts, Dolphins, Steelers, and Chiefs have all stayed in contact. The Colts could be an interesting choice, because if they can broker a long-term deal with Edgerrin James, they'll have the cap room to come after Law. Poston expects that in 10 days Law will take another tour around the league so teams can gauge his progress. Asked whether Law could get a long-term deal, Poston said, ''I believe that's available to Ty."
I really hope Law signs elsewhere. If healthy, Law is one of the better CBs in the game and is an excellent fit for Dungy's cover 2 defense. And Law would be a huge upgrade from what the Jags now have at RCB. I would prefer a Law-less AFC South.

ESPN had an article about how well Marlin Jackson was adjusting to the Colts defense. I'd hate to see the Colts with Jackson and Law on the field.

yeah, Law needs to stay away from the AFC South! Thats the last thing we need. Maybe Capers can talk Bradford into pulling a Tanya Harting on him lol. :deadhorse :ouch:

After getting Surtain it appears they're no longer interested in him. The Steelers were interested in him early on, but I'm not sure if they still are or not.

If I were the Colts and Jags I'd be interested in Ty Law too.

2005 is going to be David Carr's breakout year and they'll need all the help they can get. One of them should have bid high on Aaron Glenn while he was out there.

Man, I definitely don't want to see Law in our conference!

Of course, if one of our division opponents breaks the bank to sign him, that means they have less cap room for other positions. So it could go either way over the long term, depending how it works out.

Seeing the lutacrive contracts Peyton Manning and Marvin Harrison signed I dont see how the Colts can sign Law. The Colts still have and want to sign Edgrin James!

The colts should be interested in anything that stars with CORNER or D.

Though I mean can they stop taking this defense thing so seriously. You're finnnne just the way you are. lol

Some of their secondary has gotten in trouble with the law (no pun intended). That is why.
