colts 0-3?

the_dork_avenger

Practice Squad
Next two games for the Colts are Tenn. and G.B. both should be good games. The colts should win one if not both but how great would it be for them to start out 0-3 while the Texans go 2-1 or even (fingers crossed) 3-0!

The Colts, Titans and Jags all play each other in the first 4 weeks so there will definitely be losses in our division. Hopefully the Texans come out of the box strong.

No way the Colts go 0-3. Their offense is scary with James looking like he did years ago. If they hold on to the ball they beat the Super Bowl Champs on opening night.

they should be 1-2 after week 3. The titans are good, verry good at home. And GB will probably drop one in Indy. I think the texans can take one at home, and one at ford field. But in arrowhead, things might get ugly. Texans 2-1 after week 3.

Come on DC; you have to have faith, and along with Priest's alarm clock not going off; the Texans will be ok.

The Lions were 5-3 at home and have a much more talented offense this season. I don't think our trip there will be easy.

I never said it would be. And I dont think they have that much better an offense. They have skilled players, yes. But can they gel together with only onepreseason? The Texans offense should give us the W.

Come on guys. Lokk at the new D. The lions have weapons in roy williams and charles rodgers, but do you remember whos throwing the ball? Oh yeah, Joey Harrington. Texans 2-1 after three weeks.

The Colts will beat Green Bay.

All of our rivals should have some loses cuz they'll all be beating up on each other.

week 2 Indy @ Tenn

week 3 Jac @ Tenn

week 4 Indie @ Jac

We dont play a division rival until our week 6 game at Tenn. Lets hope we can start out BIG!!! :boxing:

How much was James looking like the James of old and how much was the Pats missing Mt Washington? It seemed to me that the Colts made a lot of damage in the middle of the Pats defense.

Our game against the Vikings is the only one I think we have a slim hope of wining. K.C. we can beat. We could have beat them last time but we blew it in the 2nd half. Oak. I can see us beating too. And Tenn. is loooong over due for a Texan butt whuppin'.

lol: No lie if the texans beat the titans and lose all the other games id prolly still be happy  ok no i wouldnt but we better atleast beat them ONCE this year. Just to give us Houston Fans a lil something to rub in Ol Nashvilles face !!!

Agreed. Two very good DTs, but I wouldn't put them up with the best front 4 in the game. Panthers and Vikings have a more legitimate claim to best front 4 in the league. I'd even put Oakland up there in the mix with Washington and Sapp.

what game did you watch?? Last nights game was laughable on both sides. And we could 'what if' the ball bounces last night till the end of time. If the ball didn't bounce off the KR's chest after calling a fair catch the Indy team wouldn't have gotten the ball. If Manning had the pocket presence that he had last season he wouldn't have gotten sacked to take them out of FG range. Or better yet, if Vandermouth had made his 43rd consecutive FG, they would have gone to overtime.

I kept thinking, why couldn't last night's comedy of errors be done while playing the Texans so we could chalk up our first win against Indy. Indy's offense didn't impress me at all last night. And my mouth is watering with anticipation to go against an inept Indy D like last nights.

Keep in mind that Indy was playing on the road against a team that's owned them under Bellicheck. Manning had never won a game against New England in their stadium under Bellicheck, and he still hasn't. That was and is a major monkey on his back coming into this game, and if you'd watch the post game interviews you'd see how much the loss hurt Manning and Harrison. These two guys are usually pretty mellow, and to see the way the loss affected them shows how important it was to them to win. Any offense that can run up and down the field on a New England defense like that is formidable. The game was ripe with mistakes by both teams, and that's to be expected from the first game of the season. When we face Indy they'll likely be hitting their stride, and not making the same mistakes as they did last night. Our defense will likely be gelling, and the rookies will be more familar with their responsibilities. It will be a good game, but to suggest that Indy's Offense isn't a concern or to say that they didn't have a good showing last night is laughable. The Cheifs had no defense last year, and that didn't stop them from crushing us. If the Chiefs and/or Colts get any semblance of defense this year they'll both be very tough teams to beat.

being an Ex-AFC East fan, I have watched the Colts offense for DECADES now. EJ is not back to his form of yesteryear. He has always had something of a problem fumbling, particularly when he is making a 'second effort'. Just as he fumbled last night, unfortunately at the goal line. They had the ball in the red zone 4 times and didn't score, that is NOT typical Colts offense. I think the Colts offense was ok last night. But I also think that any game when Marvin Harrison is basically shut down means the offense was definitely NOT 'clicking'. Now don't take my remarks to mean that their offense was horrible, it wasn't. But believe me it was NOT anywhere near their 'best effort'. I truly hope that we play this same offense when they come to Reliant, as it will mean we definitely have a chance to pull off the win. But I think by then, they will have worked out the kinks and being running on all cylinders, regretably, for the Texans.

The Colts had 446 total net yards with over 200 on the ground (4.8 average) and 28 first downs. I'd say thats "clicking".

I am pretty sure we (Texans) would be pretty happy with that amount of production from the offense.

best 2... maybe. nobody great on either end.

Yeah, but to say no defense is an understatement. Their pass rush is questionable, but their run defense is pretty doggone good. And yeah, best front four is an overstatement.

take away Wayne's 1 receiving catch for 42 yds, and Clarks 1 receiving catch for 64 yards and that puts the Colts passing offense at a grand total of 150 yds for a game. That is NOT clicking for a Colts offense. As noted above when you shut down Harrison who actually caught 7 pass's for 44 yds then you can say your 'D' did its job. EJ was good, I don't dispute that, but I have seen him in much better form. Given that he fumbled 2 times I would say that he difinitely didn't bring his 'A' game.

The Colts offense was not 'clicking' IMHO. They did a good job of making yards in the middle of the field and not of scoring. 446 yds and they had a grand total of 24 points. 17 of which came in the 2nd QTR alone. They made a whole 7 points in the entire second half.

And 4 of those 28 first downs were on penalty's. Some of which were questionable at best. But you and I won't ever agree on those 'zebras' on the field V, so I will leave that one alone.
