Can't wait to hear the greeting this compassionate, thoughtful young man gets Aug. 15th ...

Of course he did follow up, once he was informed just what a jackass he is, saying that everyone here is in his prayers. So he's got that going for him.

Dumb dumb.

I'll take the over all day long on that. I'm banking on an actual quartering live on tv.

Hope he follows it up with the 534+ incomprehensible morons liking this. People actually looked at that at thought, "ya, that's right Colin, cause football!" My goodness.

The chance JJ actually plays in a pre season game aren't very high either.

It was stupid, but we were all young and stupid at one time and said dumb stuff we shouldn't have. He did apologize so I'm not going to bash him.

I get the whole "he apologized" angle, and maybe I am showing my age. But "kids these days" do or say whatever they want and think a "my bad" afterwards wipes the slate clean.

What is this? The worst flooding in 75-80 years? Billions in damages. People died.

There are just some things you don't make jokes at other people's expenses about. Anyone with half a brain and a shred of decency would see this was one of those things. Whatever grief he gets for this is perfectly justifiable. At best he was being an ignorant narcissist.

Not even close. There have been at least three events even greater that I can remember, though those were related to tropical weather events including the record 24 hour total of 43 inches in Alvin. Allison left widespread flooding and another event occurred just a few years ago.

People do tend to think the latest is the worst and though usually correct in inflated dollar damage, it is rarely correct in storm strength.

I realize his post/pic were about Houston, but this current natural disaster is not just about Houston. Nor is it about semantics, but I will let you graciously win the internet debate for today. You are correct in that Houston has seen worse than this. I'm sure all those people in Wimberley feel better now.

Said something dumb, apologized, and moved on. Nothing to see here.

I'll admit that this torqued me up more than it should have. I'm just thinking about the call I got Monday 8am my time (2am Houston time) from my son saying he finally made it home from work. He was pulling a James Harden and playing hero ball by taking co-workers home in his vehicle because they couldn't get to theirs. Driving around at midnight in the storming and flooding. Sounds like something stupid a 20-year old would do. Except had we still been living in Houston we would not have let him do that. His mama was sick just thinking about what could have happened to him and being half a world away. So yeah, I'm reacting stronger than I probably should. Take it for what it's worth.

Kids... where do they get this from?

I wouldn't expect any retribution. It's punishment enough that this guy has to go through life with only half a brain. We'll just continue to watch him regress each year because he has yet to make any improvements at all as a passer.

To dumb people like colin and bruce Irvin Twitter is like a loaded gun. The proverbial gun is loaded with stupidity and these idiot just like to fire it off whenever a little though pops into their little heads.

Prayers go out to Houston - shut the hell up idiot.

Personally, I don't care what some overrated QB from a team destined to suck has to say. What's sad is how much stock he's putting in a preseason game. Plus, #7tormsComing? Really? WTH? Are we 13? What does that even mean?

But we weren't all paid millions of dollars to be the face of a franchise worth in excess of a billion dollars. I'll agree that you take the apology in this instance, but it doesn't change the fact that the Niners need him to be smarter than he is. Apologies won't fix that.

Besides, he's 27 years old with four full seasons in the NFL. Isn't there a statute of limitations on young and stupid (or at least young)?

Geez I didn't even realize he's trying to hype up a preseason game. He's an even bigger idiot. More than anything it shows everyone that he's just a dumb immature little boy.

Young people see everything that happens in the media as an abstraction. It's hardly real. They haven't lived long enough in the real world to know the gravity of these situations.

He's probably a Golden State fan and in his mind, with the Rockets playing a playoff game there tonight, he probably thought it was something to stoke the fires of rivalry.

It doesn't justify anything, but at the end of the day, it's just words from a court jester....errrr....entertainer. There are many serious issues that deserve "being offended" about more than this story.

Forgiveness of the repentant is a given. The comment was directed toward the NEED for repentance. He had a choice between justifying the wrong or repenting of it. Unlike the popular choice of our day, he chose the latter.

While Colin Kaepernick awaits an offer that’s unlikely to come to rejoin the NFL, could he take his fight from the court of public opinion to a court of law? The NFL is under no legal requirement to employ Kaepernick. No judge could compel a team to sign him. But the quarterback, who has been passed over repeatedly for jobs this offseason — jobs that have gone to far less accomplished passers — could potentially sue the league.

Nope I don' feel sorry for Kaepernick, he was already old enough to know better about not offending folks you work for or might seek employment with at some future
date and none of those potential employers want the head aches he might bring them. They are all about selling tickets and winning football games.

:spit: Someone thinks he can successfully sue the same league hat punished Tom Brady with no evidence of anything what so ever? Lol! They might want to study that case and find out what's in the league's negotiated contracts. They could just ban Colin, because he allegedly looked at a fan wrong if they wanted to and it would be perfectly fine. Hell, that would give every single player that was ever cut from a team grounds to sue the NFL and claim various unfair reasons.

Not to mention he just put it on his twitter recently that he was retiring and leaving the NFL and encouraging everyone to boycott them in his post. The funny part about it was that he had this long write up about him leaving as if it was some noble act on his part and wasn't because no one will sign him. The guy is such a piece of work.

Yep - Sure sounds like a guy who put that whole "kneeling thing" behind him and is ready to play NFL football.

Yeah, remember him and his agent promising they wouldn't do anything like that ever again? The minute he realized there wasn't a single team that was going to take a chance on him, he went right back to talking all types of crap ab out the country, and even went further to try and encourage a boycott of the NFL. He is pretty much the NFL's version of Jose Canseco at this point. Just not with PED"s. He wants to rot the NFL with social justice politics and now he's trying to get as many players on board as he can to spread his poison. I don't see why anyone takes the guy seriously as far as his supporters go. He claims that he's ready to not talk about it, then he is again. He doesn't even vote. Where does he ever stay consistent?

I wonder how he reconciles the half of him that is white, as well as reconciles the ancestors of the people in Ghana that captured and sold his ancestors to most likely Arab slaver traders.

What Colin seems unable to comprehend is that no country's history is perfect, but where do we find ourselves at the present is what matters. We have not completely lived up to the principles and ideals we hold dear, but we are trying and it is an evolving work in progress. He seems stuck in a past without the ability to appreciate how far we've come and where we are at right now.

He's a sad, pathetic man a this point. He enjoys a millionaire's lifestyle, a direct result of this country's opportunities provided for him to play a game for entertainment, and gives him the freedom to disrespect it without government penalty. He's really just a fool.

How and where is going to make money now though? BLM aint paying much.

He won't sniff an analyst job. Hell, even ESPN wouldn't touch him.

He keeps sending out random donations and alerting the press every time he does it. How long before this guy is seriously strapped for cash?

Too bad..........it would be so entertaining........people would be glued to his every next appearance, sort of like the old serial cowboy movie house serials that left you hanging and anxious to see how things turned out the next week..........the gift that keeps on giving..........

Richard Sherman lists QBs crappier than Kaepernick:

“For you to say you have to check with sponsors and fans because this guy took a knee and made a statement?” Sherman said. “Now if you told me this guy threw eight pick-sixes last year and played like a bum, had no talent, that’s one thing. But Ryan Fitzpatrick, Ryan Mallett or whoever is playing for the Jets right now – whoever is starting for the Jets is terrible – have jobs. You’re telling me fans would rather you lose and put a worse player out there because a guy took a stand? That’s where it’s so troublesome to me.”

Sherman cited a few examples, including the Jacksonville Jaguars’ Blake Bortles and the Los Angeles Rams’ Jared Goff, as starters that don’t measure up to Kaepernick.

“Blake Bortles has shown you enough to where you don’t think Kaep would be a solid fit?” Sherman added. “Kaep has won games.”

And, of course, he would not be a distraction on a team, when he is already a distraction not being on a team.

Isn't it amazing how stupid the argument is that he isn't and wasn't a distraction when every time his name even gets mentioned by someone or a team there are stories all over the place about whatever the person said or what the team might do and all sorts of criticisms all over the place? You pretty much have to be brain dead not to realize what a distraction and cancer he is to any organization.
