Colin Cowherd Cant Miss, and Risk Players.

Blake

MMQB
Cant Miss - In order.
==========
Reggie Bush
Dbrick Ferguson - Called him dominant.
AJ Hawk - Gold standard at Linebacker.
Michael Huff
Mathias Kiwanuka - Said he dominated players.
Vernon Davis
Deangelo Williams

Risk Players - In order.
==========
Vince Young
Mario Williams - Took games off.
Demeco Ryans
Jay Cutler - Keeps ripping Mel for having him @9.

Cowherd has been a big Bush fan for a while. I remember hearing him talk about when he has gone to USC practices and Reggie completely dominates the first team defense making them look foolish.

I think Mathis Kiwanuka belongs in the risk column. He has been dominated by a couple of tackles at the senior bowl, and just recently injured himself.

I totally agree. Colledge, and I think Winston, are getting the best of Kiwi all senior bowl. Ive never liked Kiwi.

But I totally agree with Colin about Cutler. Cutler is getting way to much credit.

Colledge dominated Kiwanuka just as much as D'Brick but got no credit because the commentators were gushing over D'Brick during his domnation.

While I agree with the lists for the most part, Cowherd is a USC backer, so I take it with a large grain of salt as I do with the UT stuff.

I don't understand how he can say both D'Brick and Kiwi dominated when much of D'Brick's credit has been because of his play against Kiwi.

And personally I hope Kiwanuka drops, with a little more coaching I think he can be a dominate pass rusher.

Max Jean-Gilles is the best guard in the draft period. I feel he is a can't miss prospect along with D'Brick.

Ill Take Davin Joseph over Max. Max seems like just another one of those oversized strong guards. I want one who can move and get outside the tackle.

I use to make it a point to listen to Colin Cowherd. Until one day he started kind of bashing the state of Texas and the people from it. So I don't value his opinions very much...........

Cowherd also predicted Ohio State and USC would roll Texas and said that Virginia Tech was a better team than Texas before they were thumped by Miami.

I watch a TON of SEC football (best College ball in the USA) since I had season tickets to Ole Miss football for so long. I've been talking about Cutler being a better prospect than Rogers from last years draft for a while. Cutler being "good" isn't new news to anyone who has watched him play over the years. I'd bet Cowhered hasn't seen any Vandy games.

I don't really care about Cowherd's opinions. He is the biggest hack on the radio. After Texas' national championship, I remember hearing one take where he rattled off a bunch of Texas stereotypes and called us all arrogant, essentially saying Houston fans wanted Young because we had big belt-buckles and hats, and thought since he was from Texas he was naturally better.

No, the people that want Young based on non-football factors are A)Houstonians who want a hometown hero at the helm. B)UT fans who want to watch their boy on Sundays. In what city in America would people not want their team to draft an elite, championship winning hometown boy? Seriously, Cowherd's opinion is the same as saying Bush doesn't run inside because he's from San Diego and he's all chill and laid back, doesn't like contact. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions as long as they are founded on good reasoning, Cowherd's usually aren't.

If you took Jim Rome and stripped him of his humor and common sense, you might end up with something like Cowherd. His show is awful... so much dead air, so many irrelevant takes, so many contrarian opinions for the sake of being contrary. Sorry if this is a little irrelevant to the discussion, but I saw the guy's name and couldn't help but vent.

Kiwanuka can be very good but is far from a lock. VY is as risky as any high-pick college QB, with considerably more upside than your typical college QB. D'Brick and Hawk are the only guarantees. Huff has the most upside of any defensive prospect (think Ed Reed/Troy Polamalu), but he doesn't wow you like Roy Williams or Deion did.

All national radio talk shows are at a huge disadvantage. They have to talk about so much garbage because of ratings, that most of the time you dont hear about what you care about.

Rome's show is really bad. 3-4 seconds of dead air after every comment. And the occasional voice crack. And he tries to talk like a badass all show long. Also, he reads way way to many email jokes from listeners. I dont want to hear a joke from Brian of indiana, who says something, and signs it as someone to make a joke. All day long, that is what he does.

I haven't listened to the Rome show in a while, so I don't know if this still happens, but I used to love the 200 emails from "Orenthal" everyday :rolleyes: ...
