Coin Flip

Does the NFL flip at the combine or the draft? Drafting 19th would be nice. Moving up just one spot in the draft has some nice value.
 
Heard on 610 radio driving home the coin flip would be on Friday at the Combine. They didn't give a time or anything.
 
Who gets to make the call on the coin toss?

Do they flip a coin to decide who gets to make the call on the coin toss? Rock, Paper, Scissors?
 
Maybe the owners or GM's can put pots on their heads and run at each other. Winner gets the 19th pick.
 
I hope we lose. I'd really like to say that we picked in the twenties instead of the teens. Makes us look like a better team.

The only bad thing about the Falcons choosing in front of us is the fact their needs are very similar to ours. It'll give them a chance to grab a player we were possibly targeting.

In a standard Dollar coin or quarter flip ALWAYS choose Tails. This is becuase the weight of the heads side is slightly heavier than the Tails. When flipped in the air, there is a slight bias in which the heavier Heads side pulls the coin down.

Now, we are talking fractional difference, but these are not fair coins, so I say, ALWAYS go tails.

I don't know we're pretty loaded at DE. and Jamal Anderson....that there thingy is what they call a bust. and every round you wait on a DE is one more wart. Too little. Not explosive enough. a lot of people are unhappy with Barwin. But I thought he had a pretty good year. Looked to me like he was putting on good weight every week. Be patient with him and he just might turn into a beast.
 
Oh and by the way, McClain also reports we get the Chargers 6th round pick, not 5th like some had hoped, for the Travis Johnson trade. Guess he wasn't worth as much as some people thought. :shades:

I was thinking more along the lines of a DB and DT, but your right, they need a DE too. The Falcons need a lot on defense.

I don't want a DT in the first unless it is a fantastic value for some reason but I can't believe we have folks that want to turn 1 or 2 bad experiences into a general rule. So they missed on TJ. Big whoop it happens. They missed on Carr too. Should they have a rule against ever drafting QBs in the 1st?

By that logic, trading with the Raiders for a starting CB should be a non-starter.

not directly related but the Texans did go another route for Schaub, trading two 2nd rd. picks & swaping TOP 10 1st's. on the other hand Baltimore traded with Texans for a QB (Flacco) & it only cost them swaping late 1st rd. picks & a third :um:

I think Schaub's a far better QB thus worth the higher price it took to get him.

Using your draft value chart, when you consider that the net of the deal was Baltimore giving up the 8th pick (1400 points), and the 179th pick (19.8 points) and ended up with Flacco, the 71st pick (235 points), and a 4th round pick (#125 worth 47 points), that means Flacco cost them 1,147.7 draft points (+1400+19.8-235-47). Meanwhile, the Texans swapped '07 first round picks (100 points), and gave up the 39th pick in '07 (510 points), and what ended up being the 49th pick in 2008 (410 points), the net cost for Matt was 1,020 points. This doesn't recognize the fact that the 49th pick in '08 should be discounted because it was a year in the future.

Net calc is that even if you give the Flacco deal the benefit of the doubt he was about 125 points more expensive than Schaub.
